Great Ramen
You can’t book a table in advance, so you’ll probably have to wait, but it’s absolutely worth it. The staff is incredibly fast and efficient, with impressive attention to detail. Everything is delicious, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. The thick broth and the house specialty are my personal favorites. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, comforting ramen!

One of the best ramen in Brussels. The atmosphere is top. The service was really good. I put it a bit lower because it was only 1 lady doing everything and with a pack place it did not look healthy for her.

Absolutely amazing ramen! It is without a doubt the best ramen in Belgium. We took the classic and the karaage side, the broth was so rich and tasty, all locally sourced and crafted on sight, noodles included. The chicken was cooked to perfection along with the eggs. It’s a masterpiece!

Probably the best ramen I’ve ever tried.

The place itself is small though, so you may wait in line a bit if you don’t come immediately before opening.

About food:
These are 10/10 ramen
The flavor and the quality are just excellent. This is my second time visiting.
I tried shio paitan ramen and gyokai ramen. Those are creamy ramen. And both are 10/10 for me.
Its is relatable price vs quality.

About the place.
Its very small. You will be eating less than 50 cm to extrangers .
The place is mostly good for 2.
You can’t book. Here is “first come, first served” so, if you come late. You will have to wait in the queue at least 20-30 min.
But they always try to acomodate people fast.

About the service.
There is just one girl doing everything.
The girl it’s amazing in this sense.
She is casher, host, cleaning, server, even when the place is crowded. So she is a 10/10, because she does not mix up your order nor forget anything.
You easily feal like you are eating in a Japanese restaurant in Japan 10/10.

The service is slow, because prepare a ramen takes around 20 -30 min. Its the only thing. And if it’s crowded of course you will have to wait longer.
You can order some entrance in the meantime which are also good.
We tried the chasu pork with rice which is very good.
Flavor 10/10
Portion 8/10 because is very small .

So you can easily spend here while waiting your order + eating food: 1:30

Overall. If you want to try different ramen and very tasty, this is the place.
It worth the waiting.
No wonder it’s always crowded.

My girlfriend and I visited Mendo in 2024, a noodle restaurant in Brussels, while battling a mild flu. We were pleasantly surprised by the restorative powers of their incredibly flavorful broth. It wasn’t just a simple broth; the depth of flavor suggested a careful selection of high-quality ingredients and slow simmering, extracting the essence of each component. This, combined with the fresh, hand-made noodles, created a truly comforting and revitalizing meal. While the portion of noodles was perhaps a tad smaller than expected, the exceptional quality and taste more than compensated for this. The noodles themselves had a delightful texture, indicative of their handmade nature. Beyond the food, the atmosphere of Mendo contributed to our positive experience. The restaurant provided a pleasant and relaxing environment, allowing us to fully enjoy our meal and each other’s company. The service was also efficient, with our food arriving in a timely manner, further enhancing our dining experience. From the moment we entered until we left, feeling rejuvenated and no longer hampered by our flu symptoms, Mendo provided a welcome respite. The combination of delicious, carefully prepared food and a comfortable atmosphere made it the perfect remedy for our ailments. We left feeling completely refreshed and satisfied, a testament to the quality and care put into every aspect of the Mendo experience. It’s a place we’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly exceptional bowl of noodles in Brussels, and we’ll certainly be returning ourselves. The experience was so positive, it turned a day that started with feeling unwell into a memorable and enjoyable outing. Mendo truly lived up to its reputation and exceeded our expectations, making it a standout dining experience in Brussels.

This may, just be the best ramen I’ve ever had, even after 2 trips to Japan. Well done to this place, absolutely glorious ramen options and perfect starters. Go when it opens and enjoy.

Start of autumn and craving some ramen, we decided upon Mendo and were very delighted with our choice. We ordered gyoza, the kurogoma ramen, the shio paitan ramen and to end with some mango mochi. The gyoza were crispy and light, a perfect starter. The ramen – very delicious and satisfied our craving! The kurogoma ramen has a pleasant nutty taste and the shio paitan ramen is creamy and very tasty. The mango mochi was my favourite! The place is understaffed but the waitress did an amazing job and the service was surprisingly fast! The only small downside is that the place is small and packed, so you kind of eavesdrop on people sitting next to you (which maybe a delight if you are nosy like me), and of course get eavesdropped on. Totally recommended for the food and we would definitely return. 🙂

This is probably the best ramen restaurant in Brussels. There are many you can try and in Ixelles you may find about 5 others but you will see always in Mendo a queue and jam packed of people.

Queues are very common, recommend to come for lunch just when they open at 12. Even if queue outside or inside, it is worth the wait so hang in there. They close and reopen for dinner. There is only one single lady for the whole restaurant but she is just amazing. Very kind, patient, but very efficient. We visited probably 10 times and we have always great service.

Recommend you first try the Gyokai or traditional. The broth are flavorful and some are really thick. For two if only ordering ramen it will be €35-40. If ordering entree and drinks usually €55-60.

Ambience is top, feels very similar to ramen places in Japan. Very basic siting and japanese posters, just efficient so you can eat and be on your way. Single sitting available at the counter.
