So, there was a looong wait. I am not holding that against them. There was one woman working the restaurant, cooking, taking orders, and handling Uber/Door Dash orders, all by herself, and when she came to counter to take my order, she had a huge smile and was so kind. It made all the difference.
I have delayed eating at Tamales Morenos for a very long time as my favorite place since childhood, Tamale Kitchen, is right across the street. I was in the area and looking for something a bit different, so I gave them a shot. I was not disappointed.
Yes, there was a wait, I am hoping they were just having staffing issues that day. As I mentioned, the woman working there was so pleasant, I have to mention that again.
I had a simply order, a chorizo breakfast burrito. It was fantastic. The green chili was great and everything was fresh and hot.
I am not sure how I am going to balance my love of their rival across the street and eating at Tamales Morenos, but I am going to have to figure something out as I really enjoyed it. This is a great intersection if you like Mexican food!

I honestly don’t understand how anyone could have a bad word to say about Tamales Moreno. I’ve been eating here for years and have never had anything that wasn’t incredible.
Their tamales are my go‑to for work potlucks—people rave about them every single time. I’ve brought them to family gatherings too, and they’re always the first thing to disappear. The breakfast burritos are also fantastic. I’ve taken them to morning potlucks or enjoyed them the day after a late night out. They hit the spot every time.
It’s not really a dine‑in place, but that has zero impact on how delicious the food is. For larger orders (30–40 tamales), I always order ahead for pickup, and my order has consistently been ready on time and exactly right.
Tamales Moreno is simply outstanding.

The red tamales weren’t fully cooked you can see and feel the masa & they smell like rotting food I got sick an hour after eating them and in pain all night eventhough I scraped off the masa. I gave 2 stars because at least they aren’t dry like tamale kitchen.

Best tamales in the metro area. This is one of those honey holes you don’t mind telling everyone else about. The building is very small and unassuming but don’t be afraid to know great things are behind that door! This is not an eat-in location but is perfect to take home to the family. Their rice is so good and so are the refried beans Been going here for years and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Just as the last reviewer stated. Barely any meat in the tamales. I purchased a dozen, that were not cheap. They had decent flavor, but the pictures speak for themselves. Can anyone recommend somewhere I can buy some great tamales? I don’t mind paying.

Ordered their Chile Rellenos and let me tell you. They were as long as my index finger! Little! Smaller than a small eggroll. Paid $16 for the plate and it was a ripoff. They were hard and had no flavor. I think they left them in the microwave too long. Will not be ordering from them again. Save your money.

My Husband and I decided to try this location out for the first time and I have to say just walking in there very nasty negative attitude from the young lady at the counter to greeting and when I was ready to order I did let her know it was my first time there just to give me a second looked at there menu( very confusing by the way specially just being there for the first time) asked what was in the burritos and placed my order. I would of appreciated a little more customer service because I feel because of there interaction in the restaurant with her and the older lady there the food came out disgusting that was by far the worst breakfast burrito ever!! They were inedible so much potatoes no seasoning and to boot soggy inside and not fully cooked!!
I don’t reconnect this place to anyone!! Burritos will make you sick specially there potatoes concoction!! I have never been back and will never send anyone there to eat none of there food has flavor there tamales are horrible!!

I tried their tamales first the time today, I got a dozen half green and red chili. Wow these were delicious and big and plenty of meat filling. I think I found my new favorite tamales kitchen. Other customers were raving about their breakfast burritos, which I’ll try next. Definitely get you some of these tamales.

Ordered a breakfast burrito with two tamales with Uber eats, received the wrong order completely. Went back to the place to get the ordered corrected and was still sent home with the wrong burrito. Food is good but this has been ridiculous.
