Brisket was tender and smoky, ribs were juicy and fall-off-the-bone perfect, and the sides stole the show. The mac & cheese and cream corn were next-level, and the greens were seasoned just right.
Service was fast and on point even with a line. My order was ready before I finished one lap around the food court.
Bonus: they load you up — I had enough brisket left to make a killer sandwich the next day.
If you love real BBQ, this spot is a must.
Tried Mike Henry’s Barbecue for the first time and ordered the pulled pork sandwich combo. The food was really good — the pork was tender and flavorful, and the sides were tasty.
However, the pricing was confusing. The menu listed the combo at $22, but my receipt showed $19.76 before tax. Then, they added $6.76 for toppings that I thought were included. With tax and a drink, the total came out to $31.98. No one explained the extra charge, and I also didn’t get the slice of bread that was supposed to come with the meal.
Overall, the food was great, but I wish the pricing and communication were more transparent.
Edit. I read the menu incorrectly the pull pork sandwich is listed at $19 but somehow the price on the receipt added additional tax just on the sandwich it self. It should not be in the sandwich
Upon arrival, we decided to order the beef rib plate, which came with beans and mac & cheese as sides. The presentation of the food was decent, but the overall experience was disappointing from the start.
Customer Service:
The lady working at the front counter left a poor impression. She was unfriendly and seemed uninterested in being there, which made us feel unwelcome. A simple smile or a bit of enthusiasm could have made a significant difference, but sadly, there was none. It set a negative tone for our visit.
The Food:
As for the food, it didn’t live up to the hype. The beef ribs were average at best—certainly not the mouthwatering barbecue experience we expected. The beans and mac & cheese sides were also unimpressive, lacking flavor and any sense of uniqueness. The barbecue sauce, which is often a highlight of any good BBQ spot, was disappointing as well. It lacked the depth and richness of flavor we’ve enjoyed at other barbecue joints.
Overall Experience:
This visit was underwhelming in both food and service. Given the plethora of excellent barbecue options out there, Mike Henry’s failed to stand out. While the TikTok ads painted a picture of bold, delicious barbecue, the reality didn’t match up. Adding to the disappointment, the unwelcoming service left us with little desire to return.
Unfortunately, this will likely be a one-time visit for us. With so many other great barbecue spots offering better food and friendlier service, I can’t recommend Mike Henry’s based on our experience. Sorry, Mike, but this wasn’t the barbecue we were hoping for.
