We were in town on a Tuesday from Oklahoma for our son’s appointment at the Children’s hospital and simply googled “good food near the hospital” and Maddie’s Place came up. Long story short, the food and service were amazing! They were so sweet to our Charlie boy also! I hate that my mom brain cannot remember our waitress’ name, but she was sweet and personable as well! Not the most aesthetic pictures, but we had the ribeye and blue cheese meat pies with a carrot slaw for appetizers and they were our favorite part of the meal. For entrees, we had the bacon glazed salmon on a bed of garlic grits on a tomato crème paste with Brussel sprouts and the crawfish pasta! Highly recommend!

The night before my sister’s birthday I went to Google maps to find a restaurant we’ve never had before. After reading the reviews about Maddie’s Place and looking at the posted pictures I knew this is where we needed to go.
I wanted to try a variety of apps so we ordered 3 and we both got the lunch special.
Appetizers:
Alligator Bites- were fried and seasoned perfectly and paired great with the dipping sauce it came with. The sauce reminded me of a sweet/sour combination.
Fried Green Tomatoes topped with lump crab meat- crispy and delicious. I’ve had fried green tomatoes before and at some places the batter doesn’t stick or falls off. Not these. They were fried very well with a good amount of crab meat on top.
Ribeye & Blue cheese meat pies- these were my least favorite. The blue cheese was strong and over powered the meat. I also feel like the pastry dough should’ve been cooked longer ours was a little soft. Not horrible but I wouldn’t order again.
Lunch specials:
Red beans and rice, fried catfish, and fried shrimp- the red beans and rice were very flavorful. You receive quite a bit with your order. The catfish and shrimp were good but needed more seasoning. Using the hot sauce helped.
Cheese grits, catfish, and fried oysters- my sister loved the cheese grits paired with the catfish. She felt the same about them needing more seasoning.
The cooks did a great job with preparing the food. Most importantly it came out fast and fresh.
The atmosphere was laid back and inside was clean. Even the restroom.
Our server Morgan was great. He was attentive and helped us with suggestions about which appetizers to choose from.
All in all, I highly recommend and will return.

I’ll be real, this is probably the most underrated restaurant in LR. The food is the best in area for Cajun. I’ve had their chicken, redfish, gumbo, and nachos and it’s never disappointed. My wife had the harvest salad and loved it. The drinks are awesome and it retains a local atmosphere.
If you’re in town and want a real Cajun experience, this is the place.

Absolutely fabulous redfish, garlic grits and collard greens! The collards were unlike anything I’ve had before and they were amazing! A little vinegary and a little sweet. A little bit of everything was the perfect bite! My husband’s chicken with the crystal glaze was SO good also. The texture of it was great. I’m sorry I don’t live closer so I can go back.

An older small quaint restaurant which adds to its charm with amazing service and amazing food. I had the grilled salmon, Brussels sprouts, and grits with some sort of spicy/sweet tomato glaze. The food was simply amazing. I’ll go back and try something different. Highly recommended if you are in the area. The serving was sort of small but it was enough.

Wow! Absolutely amazing. Great little restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, wonderful service and phenomenal food. My service was excellent, the food came out fast, the servings were generous and the dishes were sophisticated, rich and delicious. Very good value for money. Can’t recommend enough. Eat here!!

Went to Maddie’s for the first time this week with colleagues from work. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. It’s a comfortable spot that works well for a casual lunch, whether you’re with coworkers or friends. Five stars — highly recommend!!!!

Maddie’s Place is one of my favorite restaurants in Little Rock. A friend recommended it to me over a year ago when I asked for non-chain recommendations in the area and perusing the menu, it won out.
Upon arriving, I was thinking “this place cannot be it”… it’s nothing fancy on the outside, but do not judge a book by its humble cover. The food here is absolutely phenomenal and the staff is always the friendliest, most hospitable group of people you’ll encounter. I’ve introduced my parents and husband to it and we’re all in consensus.. this place is fantastic.
The baked crab dip and fried green tomatoes are delicious starters, but I don’t think anywhere beats their seared redfish or fish tacos. 100/10

Went a few days ago, food was pretty good, the service was outstanding!! I got the fried chicken with Mac and cheese and greens all of it was above average but not spectacular. My wife git the fish with Green Beans, and both were very good. Fish was perfectly cooked and flaky, with the side of garlic fries that were also really good. Gator bites were well cooked but could use a little more seasoning. The kicker on the dinner was the bread pudding, which was phenomenal. I took a bite and forgot to take a picture as I inhaled it. I will go back for the bread pudding by itself.
