Step 1: ask the parents if anyone brought out the toddlers food; parents say “nope”
Step 2: bring out the parents food, ignore the toddler
Step 3: bring out undercooked chicken for the child under 2
Step 4: casually say you’re sorry and take the tenders off the bill like you didn’t almost cause a child to have food poisoning
Wildly disappointed; until mid-last year we lived nearby and would patron grnd Sqrl with friends. Always had good experiences, good few, good music and good vibes. Thank god we cut the chicken into smaller pieces or, instead of enjoying the remainder of a leisurely weekend, we would be taking our child to the emergency.

Honestly, the food is what brought down my visit. I happen to be there and open Mic night. The atmosphere was great. My server was phenomenal. The food was good, but not great for the price.

I was kinda skeptical about coming here at first but I’m super glad that my husband chose here for lunch after church.
It had pretty quick seating, great atmosphere and terrific food I’d definitely recommend going to try for yourself.
Coming from a prior waitress who would do it again in a heartbeat I just wish the distresses/waitors would come around the table a couple more times. Other than that they were quick paced, very personable and polite .
Definitely would and will come here again. Good job team

Lots of gluten free options, and the gluten free burger was absolutely delicious! It might be the best GF bun I’ve had in a while. They have a separate fryer for the fries. The only downside is that it took a long time from when we ordered to when we actually got the food.

After a hike in JT, my husband and I stopped by grnd sqrl for “linner” (you know, late afternoon lunch/dinner). It was stellar.
We had butternut squash, curry, coconut soup to start, followed by lasagna and the house salad, and they were all superlative. I wasn’t surprised to read that the chef once worked at Michelin-starred Aquavit in Manhattan.
We met the owner, who was super-friendly, and the staff is happy and chatty.
Don’t miss it!

Service was great, helpful and attentive. Salad was oddly solid for being a small town brewery/bar. Beer list looked fascinating. Honestly shocked on that and the love music was about to get started. Everyone was friendly and ready to chat. The fries were the only part that wasn’t truly impressive.

The food was awesome and the beer selection was legit! The pulled pork sandwich was next level. The sweetness and acidity were perfectly balanced. We went on a live music night, and the music volume was just right and set a nice atmosphere.

The owners have found a way to put the best craft beer selection for many miles around and incredible and interesting food together in one spot in the high desert. I only regret not living much closer. Try The Jalla. Just do it.

Feels like their website may have been designed by chat gpt. Talking about chef inspired items. I would not get the pickles again! I was so looking forward to them as you cannot find them, everywhere and thought that the Swedish (noting this as the chef is noted to be from Sweden) were known for pickling. Tasted only like vinegar and like they hadn’t been pickled long enough. The beets were the best item in the “pickles” And there was no pickles in this either like shown on the website. The grilled cheese was meh. My friend had the pulled pork which was lack luster tomato based sauce with a very Smokey flavor.
The French fries were tasty
It was a surprise to find out it was open mic night. Was an interesting experience

We had a delicious dinner here! We got a table immediately and didn’t have to wait long for our meal. We had the grilled cheese with regular fries and sqrl burger with garlic fries, both really tasty and fresh! Great service, and a fun atmosphere with live music and a wide selection of craft beers, I can recommend this place if you’re in 29 Palms!
