One of my all time favorite spots in Charleston simply for their focus on fresh seasonal local vegetables. We love getting all the small vegetable plates and sharing them as one big feast. Favorites include their incredible beets, carrots, cauliflower, ricotta, but honestly everything we have tried has been innovative and delicious. Although it’s a bit pricey, the quality of each dish makes it worthy. We’ve visited three times so far and will likely be back again and again.

Wow, this restaurant is incredible! Four of us went to dinner here last night and it was the best meal we all have had in a very long time (or maybe even ever)! We all have lived, or still currently live, here in Charleston, so we are very familiar with the Charleston food scene, and we all agreed this is one of the best restaurants here in town! Our server was amazing – kind, informative, attentive. The food was so creative and flavorful! Such interesting flavor combinations that you would never think of but was so delicious!

Enjoyable dining experience. I had the carrot small plate, potato gnocchi, and catch of the day. Everything was very flavorful. The potato gnocchi dish resembled more of a potato taste than a traditional gnocchi made from potatoes. However was still good. Plentiful vegetable option with appetizers and side dishes. Would recommend a visit

We did the tasting menu with wine pairing and sat at the kitchen bar. I was celebrating my birthday but they didn’t offer anything special for that in particular so just note that if you’re going to celebrate a special occasion. The food was good and interesting but nothing necessarily stood out to me as special or memorable compared to other tasting menus I’ve had. That said, perhaps the ala cart menu is a better way to go.

Sorghum & Salt: A Vegetable-Forward Delight

Sorghum & Salt delivers a truly exceptional dining experience. The vegetable-forward menu is an inspiring showcase of fresh, inventive dishes. Each plate features unique presentation and complex, surprising flavors that elevate simple ingredients. Furthermore, every staff member makes the atmosphere incredibly inviting and welcoming, ensuring a memorable visit from start to finish. I highly suggest the chef’s tasting menu with perfect wine pairings for an amazing dining experience.

The experience, the food, everything was amazing. We originally ordered 3 dishes but since they were so good we decided to order 2 more. Bonus: sitting at the counter was the best choice, we could see all the food preparation and we chatted with one of the chefs.

Vegan friendly with some cheese and meat options. Pricy, but well worth the cost. The food was delicious! I kind of wish I could have licked my plate clean. The beets were so delicious! All three of us were having with our food. You should definitely visit the bathroom and check out the decorations!

We had a fabulous dining experience. The menu is very similar to the menu at Tail Up Goat in D.C., but we all agreed that sorghum and salt was much better. Every item we had and every drink we had was delicious.

Had visited their former location several years ago and had been looking forward to a return visit. The new location was immaculate and perfectly set the tone for a deliciously memorable special occasion – our 20th anniversary. Every dish was beautifully presented and created with such distinct flavors. So much to savor – in the moment, and later as we reminisce a tasteful and perfect night in Charleston.

Very unique dishes that are outstanding. Gnocchi was not my favorite dish until I had their gnocchi. Next level. I didn’t get a photo of the blue crab appetizer which I didn’t think I would like because I don’t like radishes. Chocolate cake was delicious. Once again, the dish was perfect and I ate all the radishes. I highly recommend this restaurant!
