ACCESSIBILITY AUDIT:

The bouncer said that the elevators to access this bar are in the Compass Real Estate just south of it on 14th St. It is unclear whether the elevator is accessible during all operating hours of the bar, and I’m not sure how well informed they’d be about outages, so you may want to call ahead to be sure.

Otherwise, there is 1 flight of about 24 stairs with a landing in the middle and two handrails to descend to enter (the image is from the halfway point.) The stairs have poor contrast between them as the yellow and black caution tape has faded.

Management, please add contrast tape and install brighter lighting in the stairwell to enter to avoid falls and liability issues.

The tables and bar are high, most with stand-alone chairs but some along the wall also have a booth.

The restrooms are single stall for any gender. They have grab bars.

General info:
There are happy hour specials. There is no food available, but there’s plenty of restaurants nearby.

This is my favorite bar in all of DC. It’s cozy, has great vibes, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. Highly recommend checking it out.

Let’s say you wanted to go to a bar that was unpretentious but really had both amazing staff and superb drinks. Then this would be it. It’s a really great neighborhood bar. You won’t get a meal here but that’s OK. You will get great service from a team that’s like family who truly wants you to enjoy the experience and the amazing liquid libations. Ask about pairing beer with liquor because it takes great knowledge to do that. It’s probably one of the best curated beer selections available. And don’t worry if you’re not sure about the beer you want because they probably have one for every palette. It’s refreshing to know that this place is available in DC. Locals know, I’m sure, but if you’re in town for a visit, stop by and enjoy. Parking could be tough, but you’ll appreciate not driving here to truly enjoy the experience. I’m definitely coming back and would highly recommend it.

The Crown and Crown is easily the best bar in the city. The management and staff (Graham, Travis, and Hook especially) really make every experience a fantastic one. The music and drinks are great, and the Guinness never disappoints. Highly recommend this bar to anyone in town looking for a great evening!!

Charming. Welcoming. Unforgettable
We hosted my husband’s birthday celebration at The Crown and Crow, and it was nothing short of incredible. We had a party of about 20 people, and every single one of us had an amazing night. The vibes were exactly what you want for a celebration with friends and family.

The service was superb from start to finish. Manager Graham and the entire team were so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. The drinks were delicious across the board—beer, cocktails, and wine—shoutout to one of their bartenders who made me the best Old Fashioned on the East Coast.

We would highly, highly recommend this spot to anyone in DC looking for a great night out. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just grabbing drinks with friends, The Crown and Crow nails it every time. Cheers!

Frankly, the best bar I have ever been a patron of! I have never waited at the Crown and Crow for a cool pint of Guinness for more than a few minutes, and said pints are always served with charm, attention, and perfect pouring technique. Whether you’re being helped out by Graham, the patron saint of the bar, or Hook, Travis, and Bryan the owner, your experience will be fantastic.

Super friendly bartenders and a nice big space! Whether you’re coming here for happy hour or looking for a late-nightbplace to hang this is your spot!!

It’s located an awkward distance away from the metro but somehow that works in its favor—never dead and never overwhelmingly crowded. I also really like that there are two separate spaces that you can easily walk between. Very reasonable prices and interesting beer/spirit options!

This is a great bar and fantastic event space! We rented the Crown Room for our July rehearsal dinner and could not have been happier! The events team was wonderful to work with and handled all the logistics for us, including catering. Overall, it was a great price with excellent service and quality. Whether you’re looking for an event space or just a place to sit and have a drink, we definitely recommend!

Fun vibes, friendly bartenders who make a point to know your name. We enjoyed it.

Things you should know:
It’s down a flight of stairs. I didn’t see any way for someone to get in it they can’t do stairs (like if they’re in a wheelchair or on crutches).

They don’t serve food, and in DC that means little kids are not allowed in by default, so if you’re organizing a reunion or something, check with them about whether folks with kids can stop in for a brief time.
