Absolutely loved this place! Authentic Uzbek food with real home-cooked flavor.

The plov was incredible — tender meat, perfectly cooked rice, and sweet carrots just like it should be.

The manti were juicy and full of flavor, and the samsa had that perfect flaky crust with a rich filling and tasty sauce.

Even the borscht was amazing — hearty, creamy, and full of meat.
They serve tea in a little metal teapot — such a nice traditional touch.

The staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Great spot for a family dinner or to bring friends. We’ll definitely be back!

My first restaurant stop in Maryland, and my first time trying Uzbek food: what a great introduction. Every dish I ordered was absolutely delicious. The beef samosa was perfectly crisp and incredibly flavorful, the Uzbek bread was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, and the shurpa was a comforting, hearty soup with tender beef, chickpeas, and vegetables. The salmon kabob was cooked beautifully and seasoned just right.

A fantastic first meal in Maryland, and I’m definitely hoping to return before I leave Baltimore.

They microwave the left over meat that is left over and uneaten from banquets and that’s taken from the tables of previous patrons, refrigerate it, put it back on skewers and microwave it.

Anybody have an appetite for authentic Uzbek cuisine after this?

By the way, there is an authentic Uzbek restaurant up the road that you can try and may be better; Oasis.

The place is absolutely disgusting from how it once was. Food quality is non-existent at this point. People have gotten sick from eating at this place. The health dept. needs to and will get involved.

Have only ordered Takeout from here, but it is incredible. The Plov and Lamb ribs are absolutely delicious and the portion sizes are plenty big enough for leftovers. I had never had Uzbeki food prior to having the Silk Road, but it is very good, hearty, food.

If you’re looking for a great place to enjoy flavorful Middle Eastern cuisine, The Silk Road Bistro is it! The flavors were authentic and rich. The hummus and pita were excellent, and the grilled meats were tender and juicy. The ambiance is perfect for a laid back dinner with family or friends.

I love, love, love this place!. I drive from Bel Air just to eat here. I am obsessed with their carrot salad and might have taken home 5 containers of it lol. They kitchen staff got a big kick out it. The service is fabulous and very kind. Highly recommend eating here.

Excellent food in a beautiful setting in Pikesville near Jilly’s restaurant a little bit of a hidden entrance- fresh, yummy, food like kebab, borscht, dumplings. Friendly service. I had dumplings and soup and salad. Business lunch special very affordable like $9 for salad drink and main dish. Pictures of gorgeous Turkish coffee service and beautiful restaurant after lunch crowd left. Added pics of delicious kebabs and side salad. Great for groups – try something new!!

8-12-23, back again after not being able to go due to health and it was awesome as usual, service and food. The pic of the cheese rolls is missing 2!

Definitely going back. Salad, main dish, kabobs were all excellent. Forgot to order the veggie kabob but will next time. Prices are fantastic too. Been to a few of these places but this one is by far the best.

The Silk Road Bistro serves traditional Uzbek food. It’s prepared to order, fresh, and quite good. The decor is beautiful, and they have belly dancers on Thursday evenings.

We had a loaf of Uzbek bread. It looked like a very large bialy, and it was very good. I had a samsara appetizer, a triangular pastry filled with minced beef, pastry, and spices, excellent. Then I had a shurpa, a traditional Uzbek soup with lamb, chickpeas, and vegetables. Finally, I had manti, dumplings filled with either beef, pumpkin, or potatoes. I chose potato.

My meal was excellent, and the price was reasonable. My only complaint is that there was trash on the sidewalk outside the front door of the restaurant, and there’s not a wheelchair accessible entrance.

Paying the bill was interesting. The bill had a QR code. Pointing my phone at the QR code and clicking on the resulting link brought me right to the page where I could pay with a credit card.
