Unfussy eatery serving classic Chinese cuisine alongside sushi rolls & other cooked fare.

The sushi is tasty, and the menu is vast.
The lunch special runs ‘till 3 six days a week, and is a great deal.
This is a great place to stop if your group likes a variety of Asian cuisine.
The only reason I gave atmosphere a 4 star, is because I personally enjoy a full Asian atmosphere.
The Cafe is welcoming and clean.

Overall, everything was pretty decent. The hibachi looked good and there’s some good sushi selections to choose from.

We landed here on a very busy night. Maybe it’s busy like that every night. Idk. We were asked to move tables to accommodate some larger groups, which we didn’t mind doing. Service was great! We ordered hibachi, some sashimi and Mongolian chicken. While I wish I had some crispy noodles like the menu described, the sauce and chicken were delicious. The sashimi was beautiful! Plenty of food for 2 people.

We had no family in town for Christmas this year, so went here to eat Christmas night. Was busy, but everyone was working hard to get us a table. Owner and daughter were so sweet and the place was very festive with the music and decorations, as well as all of the wayward people enjoying their food. The food was hot and amazing! Thankful they were open.

Reservation for 11, then added another. The Asian Cafe team was quick and responsive to accommodate our party. It was wonderful since it was like a mini family reunion. And the food was absolutely excellent, everybody had a variety of things and loved everything. The plum wine is delicious Our sever, Savannah, superb at her craft. Checked on us at the right times, and took great care of our large group.

Oh my goodness, I am visiting from Detroit. This is the worst take out food I have ever ate. We order house salad, wonton soup and Asian cafe Special! So- the only “special” about Asian Cafe is the poor quality of their signature dish. Too much starch and the House Salad? The sauce is horrible and the salad was stale. How did this place get high marks? I rather eat Panda Express! Never again.

I have been getting take out from this place for as long as they have operated in Monticello, at least 10 years. There food is awesome!!!
Last night we decided to try dining in. It was busy we had to wait for a table to be cleaned, not a major deal on a Saturday night. We were seated at our table then the group that showed up 10 minutes after us was seated, they arrived just as the tables were cleaned. Our waitress waited on that table first and she knew we had been waiting longer. The food arrived and was awesome as always. As we were finishing our meal the owner/ manager did stop by the table and thanked us for coming in as she did to all the tables. When it was time to pay the bill our waitress who hadn’t been very attentive to us drops off the bill and said we need to pay up front, which I found frustrating as everyone else in the restaurant was paying at the table . We go up to pay, our waitress drops off 2 other tables checks at the cashier. At that point I debated on tipping her anything. Due to the owner stopping and chatting I didn’t totally stiff her. The cashier had a bit of an attitude everytime we interacted with her as well.

If you are in a hurry this place is not for you. Took us 5 minutes to get seated, ordered drinks but didn’t get them for atleast 10 minutes then ended up walking out after not getting any service for another 15 minutes. This experience was on a Saturday at 1pm.

Looking for a quick lunch and this seemed to do the trick before hitting the road. Greeted and seated quickly, but service slowed down a bit after that point. Noticed for the entrees white rice was an extra $1.50 and fried rice an extra $2.50, thought I must be misunderstanding and that something else was served as a side. Ordered the General Tso’s chicken and was asked if I wanted rice, that’s when I found out for sure it comes with nothing but the meat. At $14 for the GTC, plain rice should be a given; charge extra for fried rice… that’s like going to a Mexican place and being charged for plain chips and salsa.

We absolutely love Asian Cafe. The food is great but the service is even better. We come with our two young children (5 and 2), and not only are they INCREDIBLY patient if there’s noise from the kids, but they have brought the kids toys, snacks, treats, cookies, and fruit during our meals. The waitstaff remembers us every time we visit and is always entertaining our children with jokes and tricks. They are so kind, helpful, friendly, and generous. We feel so welcome and loved when we visit. It’s truly a family restaurant and we will choose to eat here every single time we dine out.
