I had such a nice lunch date experience here. My sandwich and soup were delicious, and the option for a homemade “treat” was truly so lovely. The service was fantastic and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Very close walk to the Capitol. I will be back!

This cafe has an old world artisanal charm combined with the rustic American passion for a quick meal. Perfect in its settings or the city that Olympia is! Great choice of European breakfast as well as afternoon brunch fare.

Closest open coffee Cafe to the Capitol. They have a nice warm Mexican mocha and very hot oatmeal lattes.

Classic Olympia. A must stop for a bite and you have to take home box of pastries and a loaf of their amazing cinnamon bread. Long time customer. I stop in Olympia on my way between Portland and Seattle whenever possible. Try the little rhubarb tarts. They’re amazing.

When ordering custom baked goods, be sure to print out or have the staff member taking the order write it down formally with a date and signature! We were shown the largest cake size in person (see photo with hand for scale) and quoted $62 each. Ok, great. We put in an order for two of that size.
When we arrived for pick up, they were much larger than what we were shown in person and rung up at twice the cost ($125 ea). The cakes were for my father’s memorial. I paid a total of $308 for two 1/2 sheet cakes which were way more than what we needed. We took an untouched cake home. Decorating charges were separate at $15.75.
When we told staff there had been a miscommunication, they said they would talk to the manager and staff member who took our order but did nothing to correct the mistake. They did not offer us a discount for their mistake. I understand that the cost and time of making bigger cakes means a higher price point, but to expect your client to pay more than double what they budgeted for with no offer to help us is a bit ridiculous, especially during a less than fortunate time in our lives. The cake tasted okay – the frosting may be sweeter than most people are used to.
I would encourage Wagner’s staff to train newer or younger staff members to be EXPLICITLY CLEAR on what they offer and what the price is because we were a bit blown away by the misquoted proportion of cake and price for what we received.

First time stopping by this bakery, I only went in to buy some pastries. I stopped by around 10am and they were already almost out of pastries. I did really enjoy their butterhorn croissant. The service was a little lacking, but this seems to be normal in the city of Olympia in general. If you’re in the food and service industry good customer service and smiling goes a long way.

We were really excited to try this place, but the baked goods were just not good. The lemon bar had no lemon flavor and just tasted like a sugary short bread crust, the chocolate mousse bomb tasted like boxed chocolate pudding that used half as much flavor as it should. The rice crispy treat did not have enough marshmallows, the carrot cake was dry.
The dogs did seem to enjoy the cheese danish we got them, so can give a star for that.
Definitely don’t get the cold brew – it tastes like dirt (usually a sign it has been sitting too long and mildewed) and then they add water to it after its poured.
This place is not worth checking out.

Are European eggs green? Order had a simple mix up had to have it fixed no problem. New order took 20 minutes while it was slow only to be served grose tasting green eggs on breakfast sandwich. Which was on plain toasted white bread since they had used the last croissant in our last order. Not a great $35 coffee /breakfast. Free carrot cake was delicious.

We ordered a breakfast croissant and ham sandwich. The menu said the croissant was supposed to include a “fruit cup and treat”. The oranges were all we got as a fruit cup. The did not ask what we wanted for a treat and gave my mom a cake with walnuts which she is allergic to. She approached and ask why she didn’t get a fruit cup and asked for a substitute treat. She was treated extremely rudely. They asked her if she was “really allergic” and then gave her a chocolate chip cookie that was not good. Both of our sandwiches were bad and mine was so cold it was almost frozen. We could get past bad food if the employees were kind but they were rude and unfriendly.
