Von Ebert Brewing was founded in 2018 by Tom M. Cook and Tom S. Cook, a father-son duo in Portland, Oregon. Von Ebert Brewing is named after the family matriarch who we lovingly refer to as “Grandma Ebert.” The quintessential immigrant story, Grandma Ebert came to America from Germany via Ellis Island and relied on her grit and determination to create a successful life for her family here in the states.

Great golf club vibe. Fireplace and lots of windows. Bar and booth and table seating. Large patio area (I think). The seasonal beers are usually amazing. I absolutely loved the maple syrup barleywine. The menu is mostly pizza and sandwiches. I chose the Cubano and was mostly satisfied. I had to put on my own yellow mustard but other than that it was excellent.

I stopped by yesterday for happy hour and had a great experience! The service was great and the bartender “B” was awesome. Super personable and friendly. I come here often and always enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, quality food, and great beer selection. Definitely one of the top spots in the area!

That CBR pizza was so good I literally ate the whole thing myself. Coco was awesome, she was very helpful with deciding where to go for both the beers I decided to try. What a sweetheart she is, very personable and makes great conversation!

This was a delivery, which arrived earlier than expected. The food is AMAZING, hands down the best chicken strips in Portland with perfectly seasoned French fries. I would highly recommend this place!

Great spot for happy hour! I was able to get a small salad which, to my surprise, was more than enough. I’d consider it a medium salad. It was very fresh and went great with my lager. I didn’t realize what Stein meant until the waitress brought it out to me, what a big beer! For $3! The outdoor environment is great because you get to watch people golf. Overall a great experience, I look forward to returning to try their steak bite fries.

My partner and I have been regulars here for the last few years – primarily for the smoked chicken wings! They are tender, soft, and delicious – and very unique. They now serve wings every day so we’re thankful. The large pretzel is pretty good too. The service we receive here is generally pretty good! Many of the staff here are kind and friendly – including Gabby and Josh (when they used to work here) and Birginio, who always greets us with enthusiasm and a smile. Most recently, we were treated poorly by Leo. Yesterday, we were seated in his section. He ignored us for 10 minutes before what looked like another staff informed him that we’ve been waiting. Instead, he sent her to come take our order. As part of our order, we ordered drinks. We waited another 20 minutes for our drinks to come. Leo incorrectly made the drinks – twice. He then never once checked up on us and never interacted with us again. Also, this was not the first time Leo took a long time to make our drinks; it happened on a prior visit also. Update: We went back this past Friday. Leo apologized for the poor service he gave us – something that he didn’t have to do.
