Palo Alto’s first and only Open-kitchen Chinese restaurant. Opened since 2013, features a modern decor, wood furnitures and a clear view into the kitchen. We are famous for our authentic Dim Sum dishes, and we have the best Beef Noodle Soup and Wonton Noodle Soup in Palo Alto. We also serve with a variety of tradition Hong Kong and Chinese dishes. Our skilled chefs are very flexible and attentive toward your special needs. Our outdoor patio-seating is a great place to relax and enjoy some traditional HK/Chinese snacks.

Sleek eatery in modern day wooden tea house style serving classic dim sum & other Chinese dishes.

The food overall was nice and the environment was beautiful. Only the steam riceballs were a little unfully cooked

Solid place to get Chinese food that’s a little cheaper than Taste down the street. They’re also a good place to get dim sum in Palo Alto (although in my opinion the dim sum prices are still pricey, but that’s Palo Alto for you).

This time we got the cumin lamb and sautéed broccoli with some white rice. The cumin lamb was very good. It was a bit salty, but this dish usually is.

The service was a little slow this time. The cumin lamb was served before the rice so we had to wait a little to get our rice to eat with the dish. But I’ve gone before and haven’t had that problem with the service before so it could just be that time.

The inside’s really new and clean. It feels modern and warm. Also the bathroom’s surprisingly large and nice. It definitely feels like an expensive restaurant bathroom.

Parking: There are many parking garages in Palo Alto so it’s not too hard for us to find parking

I’m putting three stars because they say they have GF XLB but they are NOT GF despite what their menu says and they don’t seem to want to change it. The first time we went, the waiter confirmed it was GF. That as the whole reason we went there. It’s also marked as GF on their menu. The second time we went two months later , the waiter said it was not GF (still marked as such on their menu.) So beware of you are GF! The food is good, and the service is OK. Atmosphere is nice.

Good food, a bit pricey. Try the crispy shrimp balls, they’re really good and so is the sauce. The main dishes are priced more competitively than the small dishes; if you eat mostly dim sum the price quickly adds up. 18% gratuity is added to all orders. Kitchen closes at 8:30 PM but the place stays open until 9. There is dog friendly outdoor seating.

The schezwan chicken and the eggplant with chicken claypot stood out the most. The rest of the dishes were average. The dumplings were disappointing as they were pretty bland. Service was good.

They have a total of seven different kinds of gluten free dumplings (four with meat or seafood, and three vegetarian ones). Having so many gluten free dumpling options is almost unheard of. We ordered all of them and were very impressed. Tasty, generous portions and clean feeling because of the water-based cooking.

This place was such a treat and everything was so good! All of the flavors were great, savory, fresh, and satisfying. We ordered the sautéed spinach and garlic, the XLB, the Shrimp Xiu Mai, Taiwanese noodles, custard buns, and BBQ pork buns.

All dishes were great! I loved the xiu mai and my husband loved the bbq pork buns especially.

Good place to get dim sum, but not too many options. The dumplings and buns we got were delicious! But the lotus leaf was not our favorite.

I visited this place twice in one week! (You know, it HAS to be good!)

My husband and I were strolling around at University Ave and decided to grab some dinner. Came across steam, looked at their menu outside the restaurant and decided to try it! The place was clean with nice indoors (they have an awesome kitchen view and you can sit and eat at the bar tables!)
Being Saturday evening, we had to wait ~40 mins to get a table. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much out of them but to my surprise I came out of the restaurant as a fan!
It definitely gives an impression of a dimsum place but they have a really good main dish options too! Here is what all I have tried in my past two visits and their ratings:
Szechuan Chicken with Garlic- 5/5
Pan fried noodles with chicken- 5/5
Shanghai pork dumplings- 5/5
Pork and Shrimp Dumplings: 3/5
Shrimp Dumplings: 4/5
Pork Bun: 4/5
Pan Fried Chicken Bun- 5/5
Chicken Pot Stickers- 5/5
Mushroom Dumplings-3/5
Rice in Lotus Leaf- 3/5

My overall experience was great! I have been to many Chinese restaurants lately and can safely say that this is where I am going again next!
