We always sit on the back deck, and the views are amazing! Nothing like that in Traverse City!
The service is always amazing and we are always greeted with a smile and friendly service!
The food is amazing too! We love many of the appetizers and the desserts are amazing! The meatloaf is a tried and true for us, as are the crab cakes! We look forward to this every year and they did not disappoint (we knew they wouldn’t)! Thanks for always making our anniversaries that much more special Elizabeth’s!
The lobster tail was so overcooked I couldn’t peel more than 1/3 of the meat out of the shell. It turned to pure rubber as all overcooked lobster does. My salad had two—count them—two croutons. My sourdough was ripped in half (it’s a small loaf they usually slice) and the bread sticks were crushed. There was also no butter. When placing this order— I asked the girl on the phone for the complimentary bread that comes with every dinner (and has came with every order I’ve ever placed) and she said she is unwilling to give it to me for free and will need to charge me. Really sad as I’m not asking for a handout, I just want the complimentary bread that has always been free.
I left my name and number for Daniel the following Tuesday, and have not heard a word. Maybe the message wasn’t passed along, or maybe he didn’t want to address it— I don’t know. The bartender I gave my number two was extremely friendly, and the staff here is always amazing besides the one on the phone who charged me for bread. Daniel was awesome when I dealt with him before, so I’ll assume it was just an accident to not reach out. When the food is good, it’s great!
It just sucks, after ordering $70-$110 meals multiple times a week to have this. I am disappointed not only to not get a call back, but for the disappointing last meal. 🙁
2.5 hours is a really long time to do a meal. At one point, we gave up on ordering more alcohol because we lost faith we would get it in time to enjoy with our meal. They should have had more staff to handle the big night.
My gf is vegetarian and was down to make the most of the menu. My parents did attempt to manifest a vegetarian entree for her by suggesting that they make one to the waitress the last time they ate there, but alas. She ordered a beet salad and risotto. She was shocked to see a dainty side dish of rice show up alongside our steak and lobster. Hungry and angry, she blamed herself for not asking how big the risotto was, but also, couldn’t the waitress have pointed out how small this dish was going to be when she ordered? I gave her my side vegetables and, miraculously, another order of side vegetables came out quickly.
My gf went to the bathroom to emotionally recover from her meal, where she found comic relief in the display of vaginal deodorant offered in the women’s restroom. It’s a big night, ladies, and the chop house wants to make sure you are freshened up 😉
Towards the end of the meal my mom discovered that the salt shaker was empty and missing a cork at the bottom. At that point, we were committed to getting the check. I probably wouldn’t be writing this if this weren’t the fanciest restaurant in Marquette, but when you are charging top dollar, you should bring on a few extra people to keep things running smoothly. Ironically, I had the best meal of the bunch!
Virtually never leave reviews, however I had the privilege of dining here recently, and I couldn’t stay silent.
We have eaten at some amazing restaurants all over the US, France and Europe and had some great experiences, but our meal here was off the charts amazing! We got the asparagus, ceasar salad, filet and duck. Drinks were fantastic too. And our server Zena was phenomenal! Management was on point, and I couldn’t say enough about the chef. Clearly knows what he’s doing!
Still blown away that this amazing of an establishment is tucked away in Marquette Michigan. And if you go in the summer, be sure to ask for patio dining- beautiful lake views!
