Excellent dinner from Zanos Trattoria. Place was packed on a Saturday evening, standing room only lol. An unbelievable meal from a couple used to going into nyc for high quality old school Italian meals. Picked the eggplant parm which was fabulous. We went with angel hair and if I picked again I would go with linguine. Pasta was phenomenal, I just think penne or linguine a better match here. Sauce was a 9, dish a bit salty but I do believe because there was an abundance of mozz on the eggplant which made the eggplant even better. Not used to that much parmigiana but elevated one of my favorite dishes to a new standard.
The spinach fettuccine was my wife’s suggestion and I love a good wine sauce which this dish wasn’t good, it was great. The shrimp was a nice size, not a lot but this dish with artichokes and red peppers, you didn’t need an over abundance of shrimp. Dish had a very slight advantage over the eggplant which says a lot. Fettuccine perfect.
It is nice to have an Italian restaurant this high in quality without crossing over into one of NYC’s 5 boroughs. I will be back but as a word of caution, you do need a reservation!

Fantastic Restaurant! Owner Anthony is fantastic and took great care of our group of 9. Wait staff were top notch – could not have asked for them to be any more perfect! The food, best authentic Italian dishes in the area. Each meal was cooked perfectly, flavorful, and with large portions. We will be back, and this is now our go-to place! Could not have asked for a more perfect evening!

I have never tasted anything as scrumptious as there cheesecake cones! they are absolutely phenomenal! the chicken parmesan was amazing, crispy, but tender, & so flavorful! the staff was so friendly, the atmosphere super inviting! I can not wait to go back! on a scale of 1-10, they were off the charts! thank you so much for such a wonderful meal! I was celebrating 2 people who mean the world to me & I can’t think of a better place to go!

We were looking for some fresh cannoli’s and was told to check this place out, we were hungry and decided to stay for dinner. This is an amazing one stop everything Italian locale on the south Jersey shore. You can get fresh made heroes, salads, cold cuts, pizza, pastries and gelato, all to go , but what really makes this place special is that they have table service adjacent to the market with a full Italian menu. We were courteously seated and treated with very friendly and attentive service. We were first served some warm and fresh Italian bread, brought all the way from Staten Island, that was followed by an order of exquisite fried calamare, fresh, tender and crispy, served with a spicy marinara. For our main meal we had the fresh sautéed scallops with risotto which were cooked perfectly and, I tried the veal parmigiana which easily surpassed my standards for an Italian restaurant. There was no room for desserts but I will be trying the cannolis which we took home. I am sure that we will back soon to this solid locale.

Loved everything about this place. Server was on the job, friendly, attentive, and efficient. Ordered the best Italian wedding soup I’ve ever tasted. Chicken parm dinner included pasta, bread, and salad with balsamic dressing. All very good and authentic Italian. Prices are decent. Portions were large enough to take half home for another meal. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Also has a Italian market attached.

The lady that took our order on Sunday afternoon was beyond patient and helpful! It’s so refreshing to to talk with someone who doesn’t rush you off the phone and make you feel like an inconvenience. Not to mention the Sunday sauce although they call it “gravy” was outstanding!

Last night 6 of us went for dinner. The dinners were not only delicious, but the portions humongous. I got Zuppa De Pesci.
It came in 2 large bowls. My wife had chicken codon blue over fettuccini. She loved it. I only wish I had taken some photos. The service was on spot, the photos on the wall, and Italian movies on the TVs really bring it character. We drove an hour to get there. It was well worth it.

I meant to send this a long time ago! I never hit submit! First time here last night and it won’t be our last! We shared Orechette with sausage and broccoli rabe as our Entree and grilled octopus and long hots stuffed with sausage as an appetizer. I had a small bowl of Italian wedding soup that wasn’t too small , actually looked large and it was outstanding! Anthony and Candice , the owners, work the room all night making sure everyone is happy and making you feel like family. You can tell it’s genuine! Lori, our server, was super friendly and also always making sure we were good. Finished with pistachio gelato and a Sambucca that was on them! The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing . Oh yea… also bought some Lemon Twist cookies from Brooklyn from their deli! Definitely put Zanos on your list if you haven’t tried them yet!

The welcoming wasn’t the best. They seated us at the corner table near the kitchen. Everyone who passed by kept hitting the back of my son’s chair. My plate had watery pasta sauce and the veal was so hot. I could tell it was heated in the microwave. Never bothered to refill our water cups and the flies annoyed the heck out of me. Not the best or the most authentic.
