A Memorable Anniversary Dinner at Navy Blue

For our 10-year anniversary, we chose Navy Blue for the first time—and from the moment we stepped inside, it felt like the perfect choice. The staff greeted us warmly and surprised us with a complimentary glass of champagne, a thoughtful touch that set the tone for an exceptional evening.

We began with the restaurant’s biscuits, served hot and beautifully fluffy with just the right crunch around the edges. Paired with the herbed garlic butter, they were irresistible. Our waiter, Sebastian, guided us through the menu and wine list with a level of professionalism and clarity that made the experience feel both effortless and elevated.

For entrées, the hangar steak was outstanding—tender, deeply flavorful, and so buttery it practically melted on the tongue. The agnolotti pasta was equally impressive. I opted to add blue crab on top, and it turned the dish into something truly special: delicate, rich, and perfectly balanced.

Dessert at Navy Blue is not to be skipped. The hummingbird cake was lush and flavorful, easily a standout. The blood orange tart leaned a bit too tart for my personal taste, but still offered vibrant, well-crafted flavors. To our delight, the team surprised us with a small strawberry cheesecake for our anniversary. It was exceptional—smooth, creamy, and wonderfully nuanced without being overly sweet. Truly one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had.

From start to finish, Navy Blue delivered a memorable dining experience—thoughtful service, beautifully prepared dishes, and genuine hospitality. We left feeling celebrated and well cared for, and I would happily return for another special evening.

Overall, this place was great. We went for date night during their collaboration with chef Serigne Mbaye. It was off to a rough start, we were about 2 mins early for our reservation but had to wait a little over 15 minutes for a table. We checked out the bar while we waited and the bartender wasn’t friendly but wasn’t outright rude. When we finally got seated we were greeted by several different people, it was a little overwhelming since they were back to back. Our waiter, Mason, was great. He was funny and sweet. We truly enjoyed our food so much so I was only able to take one photo. Each dish told a beautiful story. The meat was tender and flavorful. The sorbet dessert was amazing! I wish I would have gotten a photo. Only issue was that our second to last course was bumped. We had to wait about 20 minutes to receive it while others who were several courses behind got it before us. Aside from that, the food was good and we’ll be back.

We had the amazing opportunity to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary at Navy Blue this past weekend and I am still truly in awe by how outstanding our experience was! Everything was 10/10. The private room was perfect for our party of 48. Our special menu was curated from an extensive list of options and I loved the attention to detail with the way the restaurant printed the menus, personalizing them for us. Pictured are the biscuits, feint of heart mocktail, and hummingbird cake. There are moments when I am so immersed in the experience, I forget to snap a photo, that’s totally what happened here because every single morsel of every dish I had was phenomenal!! The way they met every special request with perfect accommodations blew me away. The night ran so smoothly I just have to give flowers to Milton the manager on duty, Sebastian one of our amazing servers, and Taylor who was our point of contact and was so kind and thorough the entire way. I could seriously go on and on. Just do yourself a favor and go have a night of exceptional dining in one of the most stunning places in the city. You will not be disappointed!

First time at Navy Blue and will definitely be back! Started off with oysters (grilled was incredible, very unique flavors) and octopus which I couldn’t believe they could get it that tender! I had the Hainan chicken and really enjoyed it – it’s definitely a reimagined version of the dish, but the chicken was so moist and the rice beautifully fragrant! Wish the sauce was heavier on ginger/scallions but that’s just my preference. My partner had the blackened snapper and loved it! Great food, service and drinks! A solid by the Bludorn team

This place is great. Everyone was very happy with their entrees, as well as the grilled and raw oysters. Wine and drinks were good. The blood orange desert was outstanding. Service was excellent, and our server was really knowledgeable of the menu, made suggestions that were spot-on. Highly recommend Navy Blue.

Oysters were fresh, plenty of variety. Biscuits were like the ones from Red Lobster on steroids. Crab cake was a home run…spicy, crunchy, savory.

My main entrees, the Branzino and Burger were fantastic. I can’t recall all the specifics of the dish but they were delicious. We came on a Friday night with reservations somewhat early so service was on point. We dealt with a half dozen wait staff and they were all so pleasant.

Great spot to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, promotion, etc.

Our favorite! Great happy hour walk up/bar seating. Get a dinner Resy and enjoy our local West University gem. Food quality and Service sets the bar to highest level! The staff is so knowledgeable making every dish interesting yet approachable with such finesse. Best Caesar Salad EVER btw! Oh and go for the bread & butter!

They hosted my birthday party in their private dining area. The staff and management was very attentive with my requests, drinks and food. The food was amazing and it was much more affordable compared to some of the other restaurants that had old stuffy, private dining rooms. Navy blue dining area is very modern and upscale. All my guests had an amazing time. Thank you!

We went to Navy Blue for Houston Restaurant Week. This was our first time to enjoy this establishment. We were blown away. Carlos was our server. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We started off with the Katalfi wrapped shrimp and the Tomato gazpacho. Carlos suggested we add the crab to the gazpacho and boy was he correct!! Both apps were delicious. Then we ordered the pork schnitzel and salmon. Both were cooked to perfection. The schnitzel had a Serrano aioli that was a little spicy but so good. For dessert we loved the tropical pavlova recommended by Carlos. It has kiwi and mango on a coconut sorbet. It was light and fresh! We also had a dirty martini and an old fashioned. I love a good martini and this was perfect! We will definitely be returning!

First time visiting, invited by friends—and what a great experience! From the valet parking to the atmosphere, everything set the tone for a wonderful evening.

The service was outstanding: a team of waiters took care of us in a very professional and attentive way. We ordered branzino, red snapper, and oysters; everything was delicious, and each plate was presented impeccably.

Since we were celebrating my partner’s birthday, we ordered champagne, served at the perfect temperature, which made the moment even more special.

We will definitely be back!
