We recently ate dinner at Aurora and the service and food were delicious! Someone posted that the serving sizes were small so two of us shared two appetizers and then couldn’t finish our mains! We had the calamari, burrata, pappardelle al ragu and the gnocchi gorgonzola. Leftovers were also great

Absolutely loved this place! Cozy, intimate Italian spot with incredible food. The tableside tiramisu is a MUST — so fun and unbelievably good. The lobster ravioli was decadent, rich, and a solid 10/10. Mussels were amazing, and the lamb was perfectly tender (though the risotto wasn’t my favorite).

Can’t wait to come back — highly recommend!

Wanting to try a restaurant that felt like an authentic Italian restaurant, we stumbled across Aurora Italiana! We are so glad we gave this place a try! Our first impression had us in awe with the decor. We felt like we were in Italy! Our hostess and team of service staff were all amazing and very helpful and attentive, guiding us through drink and menu selections all through the evening.

Working our way through the menu, from the Antipasti to the Dolce, we enjoyed and highly recommend the Burrata and Ravioli Aragosta (both of which we shared). My husband chose the Lamb Shank for his Secondi while I stayed with the Primi menu and had the Pappardelle al Ragu di Manzo for my main entree. We finished with the most delightful Table side Tiramisu and an espresso. We also were treated to, off the start, to an amuse-bouche featuring their Arancini as well as their house-made raspberry sorbet as a palate cleanser following our antipasti course.

The exceptional staff from Aurora Italiana made us feel welcome and very much at home. The atmosphere, service and food were outstanding!

I’m including a few photos. Apologies in advance. I’m not a photographer; I just enjoy really good food! Note regarding the Ravioli photo… we had already started serving it before taking a picture. It was soooo good! We definitely will be making the trip back to Calgary to dine at Aurora Italiana!

Each aspect of Aurora Italiana exuded warmth. The food was delicious (I recommend the carbonara), the staff was sociable, and the atmostphere felt inviting.

I also liked the soft guitar music in the background, and seeing a candlelight with every table. It made me feel quite fancy.

I’ll be back soon!
Thank you 🙂

Absolutely loved our experience at Aurora Italiana. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and truly transports you to Italy. Best carbonara of my life, hands down. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and full of flavour, and the tableside tiramisu was the perfect ending. Can’t wait to come back.

We went to Aurora to celebrate my mom’s birthday and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was cozy and kept a lot of the charm of La Dolce Vita. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I especially liked the eggplant Parmesan (Melanzane Alla Parmigiana) and the tableside tiramisu. Our server, Victoria, was so lovely and we were well taken care of by all the friendly staff. You can tell a lot of love and care went into this restaurant. We’ll definitely be back!

Aurora Italiana is a newly opened Italian restaurant in the Bridgeland area, located in the former La Dolce Vita space and it is already making a beautiful first impression.

We were greeted with a handwritten birthday card and a thoughtful note from the restaurant, which immediately set the tone for the evening.

From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming. We were the first guests of the night, and our waitress, whose name I regretfully forgot, took the time to explain a new drink feature. I tried the Peach Silk. It was delicious and well balanced, though just a touch too bitter for me to order a second. Still, very enjoyable.

The menu is a single, thoughtfully curated page, which I personally prefer over long, overwhelming menus. I initially had my heart set on the Bison Osso Buco but they were unfortunately out that evening.

Once our guests arrived, we were treated to an amuse-bouche, a perfect one-bite mini caprese. From there, everything that followed was beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious.

We shared the calamari and burrata to start. While both were excellent, the portions felt a bit small for a table of four. Ideal for two, but slightly limited for sharing. A little more calamari and perhaps some added arugula or extra tomatoes with the burrata would make it perfect.

Next came a palate cleanser of lemon shaved ice with basil foam. This was exceptional. So refreshing and memorable that I will be thinking about it for a long time.

For mains, we all ordered something different. I chose the Brasato al Barolo (beef short rib with polenta). My fiancé had the Ravioli Aragosta. Our guests ordered the Veal Parmigiana and the Pappardelle al ragù di manzo. There was not a single crumb left on any plate. Every dish was outstanding. So much so I forgot to take pictures!

Dessert was pure theatre and indulgence. Tableside tiramisu and affogato. Absolute perfection

The service throughout the evening was attentive, warm, and genuinely enthusiastic, which made the entire experience feel special rather than transactional.

I am very much looking forward to returning, especially to finally try the Bison Osso Buco and explore more of the menu.

Highly recommended!

Great atmosphere! Food was delicious and not typical. For the lobster ravioli we were surprised with a full lobster tail. And the salmon main was moist and delicious with a pesto fennel sauce. Delicious flavors and will be back!
