A fantastic dining experience in Old Town San Diego! We visited at dinner time, and everything from start to finish was top-notch. The hostess welcomed us with a smile and seated us right away. Our server was attentive, friendly, and served us with efficient timing.

The featured cocktail menu was so creative that it was hard to choose just one. We decided to start with a few appetizers for the table, and both the wedge salad and the croquettes were outstanding. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared.

For entrées, the gnocchi was the star of the evening. Light, fluffy, and full of rich flavor, it quickly became a favorite at our table. The fettuccine was another hit—vibrant, delicious, and bursting with flavor.

To finish the meal, we couldn’t resist the pistachio cake, and it did not disappoint. Moist, decadent, and beautifully presented, it was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening.

Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. This spot is a must-visit in Old Town!

tried to email that was left under this review and the email bounced back.

Made A reservation for Valentine’s Day on OpenTable in December. Got a confirmation email on January 31 from OpenTable to “ Let the restaurant now if we’ll be able to make it.” Drove out of town for two hours and get there And the restaurant is closed for renovations . Spent extra money on extra Ubers to see if we could find another place. How irresponsible to not close down the reservations if they are going to be shut down especially for a holiday that probably has the highest reservation dates out of the year.

San Diego offers fantastic Italian food, so I decided to try this restaurant, conveniently located near my hotel. The restaurant looked charming in pictures, and the food seemed promising.

Upon entering, I was impressed by the thoughtful decor and the greeting. The hostess was friendly, and I enjoyed sitting at the bar with water while waiting for my takeout. Although the food took a little while, I didn’t mind.

However, my experience took a turn when I felt a stinging & burning sensation on my leg while walking to my rental car. I thought it was a bug but discovered it was sauce leaking from the bag. The corner had broken, which allowed the sauce to coat my purse, leg, foot, clothes, etc. Since the bag was soaked, I returned to the restaurant because I could not put that in the rental car.

Without getting into details, I felt the owner missed an opportunity to show genuine contrition & to make a customer feel that their poor experience could be improved by making it right. I believe that damaging my outfit and purse warranted a refund and a remake of my food. While I did not raise my voice, my tone reflected my frustration.

Perhaps I seem entitled, but this wasn’t a minor error. Regardless of the cause, the right approach would have been to prioritize customer satisfaction to encourage return visits and positive reviews. Instead, I left with a bad taste in my mouth from how I was treated.

Hollywood is the best pizza I’ve ever had. The service is great, Jeff was very helpful. Great salads. We drive a half hour extra to come here and it’s well worth it!

I’m really disappointed with the takeout service I received. The food here is usually excellent, but my recent takeout order was terrible. It seemed like the quality really dropped just because it was takeout, which was frustrating. I come to this restaurant often and normally enjoy it, so it’s disappointing to see such a big difference in quality when ordering to-go. I even tried calling to speak with a manager, but no one answered. We ordered the same dishes we always do, and two out of the three tasted completely different from what we usually get.

The outdoor patio was lovely, with heaters to keep you warm. The indoor dining space was cozy too. The food was delicious, especially the calamari misto with shrimp and scallops. They were perfectly seasoned and crispy. The pizza was also great. The service could be a bit better, but overall, we had a nice time.

Had a great dinner at Trattoria Don Pietro — the food was authentic and full of rich Sicilian flavor. The pasta was fresh, and the sauces tasted homemade. The arancini and seafood dishes were especially memorable.

The ambiance was cozy and the staff was welcoming, though service was a bit slow at times. Still, it’s a solid spot for a quality Italian meal. Would definitely recommend and return!

Group of 3-we had the spaghetti bolognese (pictured), fettuccine with shrimp and the chicken parm. All 3 dishes had great flavors and portions were large. Service was a tad bit slow but the ambience was good. The one thing I feel this establishment should add to the meals is bread with butter or a garlic bread to tie the plates together better. Oh and the pistachio cake is Devine!

The last thing I expected to find in Old Town was a decent Italian spot. Gorgeous design, very well thought out, lots of light and decorations, natural wood and transparent ceiling on the patio. Best gnocchi I ever tried, rich and creamy bourbon sauce, lots of truffle flavor which I loved, could use a little more mushroom and sausage, both were barely there. So delicious, if you’re a truffle fan – do yourself a favor and indulge! Old fashioned was disappointing, weak and watery, using simple syrup instead of a sugar cube. Service was amazing, super friendly and quick. Will definitely be back!
