I came through town and decided to grab a burger at the drive thru. A young man named Tarik greeted me with enthusiasm and an up beat attitude. I was so impressed with the very brief interaction we shared and had to get his name so I could leave a review.

It’s rare, especially in a small town, to find such excellent service. I had my burger in hand in under 90 seconds and was on the road.

Just plain awesomeness. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it. Well done Tarik. Keep it up my friend, you’ll go far with that attitude. 🙂

Carls Jr. in Salina Utah sucks! The drive through is always closed, and I just went to get food and they have a paper sign saying the store hours are from 8am to 8pm and it’s 6:13pm and the door is locked but I can see workers inside.. horrible service

Very unprofessional. Ordered our food and 4 employees were walking arpund talking and laughing. We were the only people in the store. It took over 20 minutes to receive our shake and once we received it, it wasnt even half full. I said something about it as the manger is standing eating at the prep counter. The manager tells her thats bullshit put more ice cream in it as the employee starts to argue with me. I then had to wait another 5 minutes for a shake. For her to make Snyde comments under her breath how this is why she works with animals (pink short hair) I am a shift manager at a fast food restaurant and every employee in this store was very unprofessional, lazy, and hygiene was not top tier. Do better

Went before close and the door was locked. Then I pulled through the drive through and the employee said they were closed. I mentioned it was before the posted close time. He told me they ran out of product. How do you run out of everything. No coke, no fries…. BS. These workers are lazy liars that don’t want to work. I hope the owner cleans this place is and serves those driving along the I-70 corridor. They are losing major money because of lazy workers.

This fast food location is in one end of the Phillips 66 truck stop. Nice dining area, large clean bathrooms, and noticeably efficient, friendly staff. All the usual Carl’s menu items, but you can try asking for a non-franchise shake flavor – “the beast” (double chocolate and oreo).
Lots of parking and a drive through here. Showing a sense of humor, there’s an old-timey roadside attraction of “Giant Soda Cans” painted on tanks at the gas station.

Slow, rude, unsanitary, bad working conditions.
I ordered a chicken stars kids meal and a hamburger meal for myself. It took over 20 minutes to receive my order and when I finally got it, the fries were stale. There was a jalapeno in my non-jalapeno burger. The burger patties are dry. The sprite tasted terrible. The drive through wasn’t open and it wasn’t super busy. Awful experience all around

⭐️ – “Closed for business… even when it’s open.”

“The cone in the drive-thru lane is basically their mascot.”

Let’s start with the obvious: Open the drive-thru. Or hire more people. Or both. I’ve been told the reason the drive-thru is “always” closed is some sort of staffing issue. But come on—when the parking lot feels like a ghost town, it’s not a staffing shortage, it’s a motivation shortage. Open the drive-thru because ain’t no one inside taking orders either unless you can yell loud enough to get them to leave the backroom.

This might honestly be the most poorly run Carl’s Jr. I’ve ever been to. And that’s saying something. When you do finally get food, it’s usually lukewarm at best—like it’s been waiting on the counter, wondering why you took so long to pick it up. The food is your standard Carl’s Jr. fare: barely edible enough to prevent your girlfriend, wife, or travel companion from going full hangry meltdown. Outside of the jalapeño poppers (the lone bright spot here), there’s no reason to darken this doorway.

It’s just not a fun place to go. In a small town like Salina, where options are limited, it’s genuinely sad that this could be a great place for locals and travelers alike… but instead, it’s a punchline.

Bottom line:
Drive-thru’s a joke.
Food’s cold and forgettable.
Jalapeño poppers are the only reason to stop—otherwise, keep driving like your stomach’s life depends on it.

What is wrong with this location? EVERY time I come here there is some kind of malfunction. Like The credit card machine isn’t working. They don’t have food prepped. Stood at the front counter for 9 minutes before I was noticed by 1 of the 3 people working. They gave me the feeling like I was an inconvenience to them. I would be more understanding if it only happened once, but EVERY time I stop. I don’t think I will come back.

Carl’s Jr. is always a good experience. We like it so much we drive 45 minutes to the closest one when we’re wanting their food. Tarik has always been a great cashier when we go through the drive-through. Would recommend!
