Enjoyed dinner here. Love the location and the food was wonderful. I had the special Blackened Redfish Potatoes and Green Beans. The Hush Puppies were ok. Felt like they lacked flavor. I would definitely stop in again!

No wonder this restaurant is so highly rated. We started with shrimp queso and tortilla chips along with margaritas, and everything was delicious. Sitting outside by the water made the experience even better — such a relaxing, bayside vibe.

For entrées, we ordered the bacon-wrapped shrimp and the crab-stuffed flounder. The seafood was incredibly fresh, exactly what you’d hope for at a restaurant right next to the bay.

Since we had our fido with us, we sat downstairs near the bar and kids’ play area. Even though we ordered from the to-go menu, the staff kindly delivered everything right to us downstairs. Great food, great service, and a wonderful overall experience.

If you’d like, I can also make this shorter, more casual, or Google/Yelp-style.

First we were placed at the perfect table with the best view of the water while still being shaded. Enjoyed the variety of the drink menu. Ordered the Cucumber Watermelon Lemonade and the Jalapeño Dosarita, Starters were great – Raw Oysters & Watermelon Tuna. However when it came to the entrees, the Docs Yardbird sounded great in theory but was a bit too heavy handed on the blackening seasoning (still enjoyable) and would try it again, but it was not as awesome as the Lemon Caper Tuna (fantastic in flavor and cook – rare to med rare) and the green beans were cooked well with a lemon pepper seasoning. We will be back for sure!

We got there around 6ish pm on a Saturday night. It was about a 45 minute wait, so we had a couple of drinks at the bar. We were able to be seated by the ocean, which was nice. Our waitress, Bella, was great! I can be picky with my food and asked for real hot sauce, not Tabasco, or creole/cajun seasoning to add to my green beans. She came through for me! But to be honest, the food was just perfect without the added hot sauce. (I still added the heat though!) This is our second time coming to Doc’s and the experience on both occasions were great. I had the yard bird, and dug in before I remembered to take a picture!

This was my first trip to Texas and Corpus Christi, and I decided to take a solo trip. This place came highly recommended, and I can see why. Gabby was such a sweet waitress and very accommodating, even while handling a busy crowd. She truly deserves recognition and a raise. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous and made the whole experience worth it.

The only negative observation I had was with the owner/manager (tall, slim white man). He was walking around asking tables how they liked their food and if they needed anything, but he walked right past me and only spoke to the tables in front of and behind me. It may have been unintentional, but it did feel strange and made me feel a little out of place for a moment.

Overall, my visit was great, and I would probably return.

Food is delicious and the views are amazing. They have a very good local craft beer list, including seasonal specials (it’s all canned but the quality is high and the styles are varied). The soft drink refills are free and they’ll often give you one for the road. And today, for New Year’s, they gifted us all with little cups of black eyed peas so I know it’s gonna be a good year.

Great food and drinks. Food is very reasonably priced, and big portions! Drinks are a tad expensive but worth it. Everything tasted great and the drinks were so pretty looking. Resteraunt has a great view of the water, and our waittress was very sweet. Ignore the bite taken out of the picture, food was so good I couldn’t put it down long enough to take a good picture

The staff was very friendly, and the band playing created a great atmosphere. Service was quick on drinks and appetizers. The burger was amazing I got the Yankee Dixie Burger and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend!

Fresh, local seafood what one should expect from a restaurant on the coast. The Mahi/Shrimp plate that was a lunch special on this day, it was prepared properly and hit the mark. The Bloody Mary was good as well. The server, Jazz, was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with making a selection. Doc’s is located on the water, right of the JFK Causeway offering outdoor or open air seating inside on nice days so there is a nice view of the bay.

Our visit to Doc’s Seafood and Steaks was a decent overall experience, but it had a mix of positives and drawbacks. We waited about an hour and 15 minutes to be seated, which was expected for the busy evening, but worth noting if you’re visiting during peak times. The menu is heavily seafood-focused, with many dishes prepared blackened or jerk-style, so there’s a fair amount of spice. If you’re not into seafood or bold flavors, your options are somewhat limited.

The setting is one of the highlights — you can sit near the edge and enjoy a nice view of the water, which adds to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the chairs were hard and lacked any lumbar support, making them uncomfortable for a long meal.

Our server was friendly and attentive, which helped balance out some of the food concerns. The burgers we tried were very charred and didn’t have much seasoning; the sauces provided most of the flavor, so without them, they would have been pretty bland.

The lower-level area offers games like cornhole and the ring-and-hook game, along with some live music, which creates a casual, fun vibe. However, it also had an unpleasant smell of spilled beer and even urine, which was off-putting and made us question the cleanliness in that area.

In short, seafood lovers who enjoy a lively, waterfront atmosphere will probably appreciate this place more than we did. For non-seafood eaters, the limited menu and mixed food quality may not make it worth the wait.
