Wayback Burgers in East Windsor is exactly what you expect from the chain: solid burgers, fries, and shakes that hit the spot when you’re craving fast comfort food. Everything we ordered was prepared as expected and tasted fresh. My only real critique is that the staff could be a bit more on top of keeping the self-serve area, but overall no major complaints and I’d still stop in again for a quick bite.

I used to work just up the street and ate here A LOT! This is my first time back since 2018. I was so happy to see it’s still here and still delicious!
I got a double hamburger, large fries and large fountain soft drink for $18. A good price for a great meal! Fast, friendly service, clean dining area.
If you like burgers, you have to earn here. If you don’t like burgers, they have other options.

Another amazing stay for my birthday! 11/22/2025 I come here often, definitely the best quality burgers around! Love me some Wayback hamburgers and amazing Cajun fries. Don’t forget about the milkshakes!! Too good The owner gave me FREE drinks for my bday, amazing hospitality and quick service through the DRIVE THRU! Like what burger joint locally offers amazing quality food through the drive thru that isn’t fast food. Definitely will be back again. -BRYAN and Allexia. ❤️

Burgers were delicious but those fries were bland and tasteless. We had to add salt and pepper when we got home, just to add flavor. Milkshakes were ok. I’ll try the tator tots next time to see if they have flavor

Three stars for the food being good, but the deal box that I got came with exactly SEVEN tater tot’s…. I understand it’s a “DEAL” and not super expensive, but come on… SEVEN????? At least give us 10!!! The floor was also very sticky, and there was a lot of trash left around. My husband enjoyed his food and got a much bigger portion of fries with his, so we may give it another try someday.

People say that this restaurant is really good for there burgers. Well my experience went not so good. The price for there single cheese burger and chicken sandwich wasn’t worth the money. We thought it was a kids meal. Best thing we enjoyed was the tots. And the wait time was just okay for take out and only customer inside.

I went here for lunch yesterday. I was told great things about this place long ago by a (former?) employee, I will call Dixon, because that is his name.
I called ahead and spoke with a very nice guy I will call Mason, because that is his name. When I arrived and went through the drive thru to pick up my order, it was ready, and Mason was there to take care of me. Being informed that it was my first time there, he took the time to make me feel welcome and to give me good information.
My burger was so-so, not great. It could have been warmer – perhaps it was a timing issue because I called ahead. The lettuce and tomato were very good. I had American cheese on it, but it was a little on the darker yellow to orange side. I’ve had better, but it was decent.
The prices are a little on the high side, but not outrageous for a bigger, top-notch burger. I was going to try the fries, even though I’m semi-dieting, but decided the cost was just too high at $3.59 for a small, because I only wanted a few to break up the burger flavor. Perhaps the portions are generous, making them more cost worthy, but I have will power and was not about to overindulge on this visit…
I liked being able to order in advance and pick it up at the drive thru window. I was happy there was no line, so I was in and out very quickly.
Mason gave me an ample supply of napkins, which was also good.
This guy Mason is the kind of quality person/employee that you would you want to be the face and voice of your company, as he answers the phone like a professional and is engaging at the drive thru.
He earned this place a fourth star single handedly.
If the burger was hot, bigger, and tastier (better cheese), it would be a 5-star operation.
Still not a bad place – I’ll be back (Wayback) to give it another try in the future…

Place is ok.. Milk shakes are good, but the food itself is standard run of mill type food. Nothing stands out as spectacular or specialty. We had tater tots and mac and cheese bites and I ordered a classic burger. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. Friendly and fast staff. No complaints on service or staff they are good..
