Came here with a group of friends to celebrate, it was a nice place, the only thing I didn’t like was our waitress. She didn’t really check on our table. We were waiting for people to join our party and when they joined she was nowhere to be found. We had to keep asking other waiters and waitresses to put in food for us. She didn’t even come by to clean our table. We were stacking up dirty dishes at the edge of the table. Every once in awhile a boy would come over and clear it but didn’t take everything. When she finally came around she was ready to hand us a check right after the last person in our party came and wanted to order, but again we had already put in a order with another waiter, we have no idea where she had been and she seemed aggravated. But besides the issue with the waitress, the food was actually really good and the other stuff that we flagged down was nice enough to help us.

Sitting Duck is my standby favorite for a dinner out in Trumbull. The food and service are consistently good and the menu has enough favorites on it to keep you content. They have specials too but I tend to order off the menu more times than not.
For most of the visits, we would order the same thing: a plate of brussel sprouts and bacon to share (now no longer on their menu – but found on the specials). The sprouts are drizzled in maple syrup and its quite good. For dinner, I go with the Cadillac burger. That combination of frizzled onions, bbq sauce, bacon and chiptole ranch gets me every time! My wife’s favorite is the beef tips. It is served medium-rare, with a mayo based dipping sauce and either mashed potatoes or french fries.
The beer list is good, with enough choices to keep people happy. Sean, at the bar, is awesome!
The restaurant does get busy and parking can sometimes be troublesome in the lot. We tend to sit at the bar during the busier times. Other than that, I would definitely recommend Sitting Duck for a pub experience in Trumbull.

Extremely jealous we do not have these restaurants where I live! Visiting the area for hockey and this place is outstanding. So many menu options I couldn’t choose what to order. That never happens for me. Atmosphere is low key yet classy and accommodating. Bathroom had an excess moisture issue the day of our visit but didn’t dampen the fresh and innovative food options and on tap selection. If I lived here I’d be a regular and never repeat my order! Fantastic. Can’t miss. Found it in the sacred heart dining recommendations. Must have been 100 listings I saw this name and it’s the only one I googled and I’m glad I found it! Never expected to find pierogi outside of upstate New York ! What a pleasant surprise.

Seated quickly for a Sat. night. Waiter was very nice. Had two beers on tap that were good. I had the Ahi Tina salad, the tuna was very good, very thick slices though. Only wish the salad itself was as good as the tuna. kinda bland and not much else to it. The fish and chips were ok, nothing special. It was served with a little coleslaw which we didn’t enjoy unfortunately. The atmosphere is nice and staff were all friendly.

I’ve been to Sitting Duck a few times, both in Trumbull and Oxford. The experience dining in has always been great. The menu is varied with tastes for every palate and the service is attentive and efficient. You should definitely give them a try, but I wouldn’t go with a food delivery or take-out as your means of experiencing their offerings. I always try to give some grace for take-out because you’re obviously not going to have the hottest/crispest meal once it arrives and things tend to dry out. This unfortunately detracts from how great Sitting Duck actually is.
TLDR; great experience dining in, far less so with take-out.

Great food great staff the appetizers were wonderful and the entrées were great. I was there with a party of six and we all enjoyed all of the food. We were there for about three hours and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I will definitely be revisiting this location in the near future, maybe on a monthly basis

I came here for dinner with friends and we had a good time. The interior of the space is big and there’s lots of bar, booth, and table seating for groups of different sizes. Service was good and quick, but one of our orders was forgotten about so that was a bit disappointing.
We ordered their pierogi, wings, onion soup, lobster roll, and a burger. Everything was actually very good. The pierogis were flavorful and comforting. The french onion soup was perfect for the cold weather. Wings were also pretty standard and good. And, I absolutely loved their lobster roll. Not a bad spot for dinner!

Met for lunch – although the parking lot was packed, I was seated immediately. After my friend arrived, we ordered and chatted. The food arrived quickly and cooked per our requested doneness..It was delicious.
Pricing was good for the quality of the food. And Peter (our server) was friendly and accommodating.
We highly recommend Sitting Duck for an upscale casual dining experience.
