Absolutely unbelievably good! The baked chicken with rice dressing was so good, I was back the next day for chicken and dumplings. When I tell you I have no idea what they did to the corn to make it taste like that, I mean it’s out of this world! Not a big place, has two 4 top tables. Lunches are mostly for takeout and they are huge servings.

My name is Ben Meyers. My wife Novia and I and our sister Mandy were treated to a fantastic experience of learning to make gumbo by Stacy, the owner of t-Pot Noir restaurant. Stacy put on a 3 hour class on making her famous gumbo starting with the roux and everything else! The experience was 2nd to none! Stacy is a tireless pro chef who makes everything hard look doable for us non cooking folks. She is a great host, an accomplished teaching chef, and a master of the gumbo dish. We had so much fun. We had gone duck and goose hunting in the morning and the afternoon cooking lesson was a perfect ending to a great day in South-West Louisiana. and the gumbo was fantastic! We cooked chicken, sausage and smoked turkey gumbo. It was fantastic. We took a big bucket home and had it at our sisters house for three days. Just a great dish, a great time with a great chef. I highly recommend Stacy’s restaurant, her cooking class and her gumbo!

Great customer service by the owner. The portion sizes are large, enough for leftovers to me.

This has become my “go-to” place in Lake Charles. The food is amazing and the people who run it are SO nice. It is a small, family operation and the lady who runs it works VERY hard and it shows. The plate lunches are top-notch and personally, I think they have the BEST chicken salad since The Boarding House closed. I’ve done my best to tell everyone I know about this gem in Lake Charles. Check out their website. They also do catering! If you’re planning an event that needs a caterer, I guarantee you T-Pot Noir will NOT disappoint! Customer satisfaction is their top priority. They deserve to have all the success in the world!

I had lunch there 2 times now. Beef tips over rice, with green beans, smothered potatoes, and a piece of cornbread the 1st time. Baked chicken, dirty rice, green beans, cream corn, and a garlic knot the 2nd time. The food is like stopping by your mom’s or grandma’s unannounced and they won’t let you leave until you eat. The lady, (sorry I don’t know her name yet) gave me a sample taste bite of her mac and cheese. It was literally, just one shell macaroni, covered in cheese sauce. It was the best mac and cheese I’ve ever tasted. Honestly, the 2nd time I went back, it was to get that mac and cheese. As my luck goes, it wasn’t on the menu that day. Super friendly service, the food on a scale of 1 to 10 for me was an 11. If your in the neighborhood, I highly suggest this place.

I’ve been back a 3rd and a 4th time now, and still can’t find anything negative about the food here. If you want authentic tasting home-cooked food, this is your place. For my 3rd lunch I had, red beans and rice, corn, green beans, and a roll. The 4th time (and my favorite so far) I got baked chicken, corn, green beans, the best mac and cheese ever, and a roll. I swear, everything I’ve eaten here tastes like my mom cooked it. You don’t even have to add seasoning, it’s just right, as is. I could eat here every day and not get tired of the menu. If you are a fan of mac and cheese, this is a must try!

I recently tried the stuffed chicken with loaded potato casserole, green beans, and corn, and it was an absolute delight! The chicken was incredibly tender, and the stuffing, filled with meat and shrimp, was seasoned to perfection. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and I couldn’t get enough of it. The potato casserole was like a warm hug of southern comfort, creamy and delicious with just the right amount of seasoning. The addition of green beans and corn rounded out the meal perfectly, adding freshness and texture. Overall, it was a truly satisfying and comforting dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious and hearty meal. Can’t wait to go back for more!

There are very nice food and nice people there. I had a chicken special with corn and squash. I also had grits and bread. They were delicious. There were very homey feelings in the restaurant and kitchen. The owner, I believe she was, was very attentive and helpful. It was a nice place to visit.
