Looking like just another strip mall restaurant, Paradise Sushi and grill is far from that. The staff are friendily and the atmosphere is casual. The place is very clean and the food is great. Fresh items and a good selection to choose from.

My high school daughter and several of her teammates went in to get dinner after practice because quick sushi across the street was closed. There were 6 of them in total. They all ordered a simple dish and were good patrons. To their surprise when they got the check there was a 20% large group fee. They were never told of this fee prior to ordering. Everyone wants something for free these days. I understand if you truly have a large group and more than one server is needed to deliver good quick service but you should be told up front. Not write in in small print on the menu and make the customer find it. This is a way to get a 20% tip before you even know how good your server is. (Their’s was good) There was also a spot for a tip on the bill as well. I feel like if this fee is something you are going to add you should be mandated to tell the customer prior to their order so they have the ability to leave if they don’t agree.
Keep reading the reviews and you will see I’m not the only one who feels the 20% is a problem/scam.

I used to loveee this sushi spot, however the last time I went (a few weeks ago now) the sushi just wasn’t the same. I normally get the yum roll and when I got it the ratios were so wrong that it just wasn’t good enough to eat more than two pieces. Normally I can finish the roll because it used to be my favorite but it was so bad I genuinely couldn’t finish it. There is way too much crab in it! Three stars because I know paradise use to be a good place to go because the quality and pricing was great, it’s just going through a rough patch right now. Everyone at my table didn’t enjoy the food either, and my friends who went on separate occasions said the same.

I was working in Santa Rosa and decided to come here for dinner before I headed home. It was a really good atmosphere with Christmas music playing. The service was very excellent, and the food came out very fast. The sashimi was absolutely fabulous. And they had micheladas which are uncommon for sushi places.
I don’t remember my servers name, but she was awesome! We were joking around and she said that she was almost 50, but she honestly looked really good for her age. And her customer service skills were awesome. Bravo!

The food was good, but the server took a while to come get our order, despite the rest of the staff noticing me looking for her. She also overcharged me but management fixed it after the fact, so no problem there. Lunch is a good deal.

Sushi was fresh and the service great. We went to another sushi place nearby that had more stars but they were very busy and the place didn’t smell very good so we left. I’m very happy that we ended up at Paradise Sushi and Grill.

My family is visiting the area from the Midwest & while I’ve had sushi before, my son had not. He asked me if he could try sushi when we were in California & I agreed. We chose Paradise Sushi & Grill due to the reviews & proximity to our hotel. They have by far the greatest kid’s meal I’ve ever seen: 2 items plus salad, soup & ice cream, all for a fantastic price. I ordered a spicy tuna roll which was great. The reason for my 5 star review is due to their AMAZING customer service & genuine kindness. Shortly into our meal, we discovered my child had a skin rash & swelling due to ginger in the salad dressing (this was completely unknown to us since we don’t eat ginger at home) & we needed to leave abruptly to tend to his reaction. Once we got his skin reaction under control, he asked to finish his California roll & tempura shrimp (both ginger free). I went back to Paradise Sushi & Grill & asked to purchase just those 2 items because I had left suddenly & hadn’t thought to pack it up. The staff was SO kind & understanding that they wouldn’t accept payment for the remade kid’s meal. That is phenomenal service & kindness that you don’t see often anymore.

My go to spot for a sushi fix! Some great nigiri options including my favorite escolor and shiro maguro, and all you can eat rolls with a menu to satisfy everyone’s liking. Quick tip happy hour from 4-6 has some great deals on cocktails, appetizers and basic rolls, we just made it and had a few flavors of margaritas at just $6 that were delicious!
