Fresh seafood, no-frills self service and packed houses highlight this locals lunch and dinner spot. It opens at 1030 am and there’s a reason for that. People start showing up early to grab a seat in this small unassuming diner. Attached to Maria’s Seafood, it is a hidden gem that most folks overlook. Lots of great fresh seafood choices as well as home style side dishes like WeeZee’s greens and sweet potato tots. They also have cold beer to go with your seafood. If you are looking for good fresh seafood at a reasonable price this is your spot. Dont come here looking for a white table cloth or snooty waiters, you wont find them. Just come early because lunch is a busy time.
My salad was just ok but the blackened grouper it was topped with was delicious! Next time I go I’ll definitely be trying some of the fried or grilled seafood. They are known for their grouper sandwiches and fried mullet. Be sure and check out their source for some of the freshest seafood, it’s just next door, all in the same building!

Popped into the fish market for oysters but they were out, so we decided to give the restaurant another go. The baked sampler had Parmesan crusted, Rockefeller, and Lafitte oysters. Personally I’m a sucker for the Lafitte, melty ooey goey cheddar paired with the hint of spice from the jalapeños. There was also a Cajun fried crab claw special which was spectacular from inception to execution. Food was ready just as we were finishing up our beers.

Some awesomely delicious seafood prepared quick and to perfection. My wife had the fried grouper, flaky and golden brown, I had the fried shrimp, yum!! We got some delicious desserts too, key lime pie and bread pudding. All very reasonably priced and served up by a wonderful staff! We’ll be back!

Great place to relax and enjoy great food. Blackened Grouper is to die for. If you like fresh broiled oysters this is the place for you. I go there and get the oysters and Blackened grouper or the grouper nuggets. Things are fried to perfectly. Thanks Marias. I will see you tomorrow!

We stopped for supper on a Tuesday in January. Husband got the fried Cajun Grouper nuggets with a side of broccoli and I ordered the Fried Gulf Shrimp dinner (10 big shrimp) with slaw and upgraded to the fried onion rings, they were huge, and could use a little seasoning in the batter, they were a bit bland. The slaw had pickles in it, made it interesting. My husband only got one hush puppy with his meal 🙁 after he was told he’d get two. Total was $53. We will probably visit again.

Very good value for the meals. Delicious sample platters for baked oysters. The volume of onions rings are huge. I couldn’t finish it. The sandwich of grouper is the best I have eaten. Highly recommended.

This place came recommended by my sister’s colleague when we were going on vacation to Pensacola, and it did not disappoint. Not in a touristy part of town so it’s not overwhelming and feels very authentic and local. True gem. Food was awesome – we got oysters, po boys, the gumbo, lobster bisque, grits, everything was delicious. The staff are awesome and treat you like an old friend rather than a stranger visiting their town and were very sweet to my rambunctious 2 year old. We ate here twice in the 3 days we were in town and would go back again for sure!

Great, fresh food every time. I had the shrimp and grits and mullet plate, and oh my was it good. The shrimp were huge, delicious, and fried to perfection. The grits were divine. The mullet was fresh and breaded and fried to perfection, very juicy, and you get 2 sides, got Cole slaw and fries, I loved the Cole slaw, and the fries were a perfect complement.

Quaint little restaurant, very fast service every time. I have never had a bad meal here or tasted something that seemed frozen like other seafood restaurants.

I would definitely recommend this place,,,

No Guinness on tap but they had several lagers. The food was the star of the show with great variety and some different options. Interesting food items. My beautiful wife had the special. Grouper Marsala. It was fantastic.
