Our dinner at Le Chene French Cuisine. We sat at a table in the bar area. We loved everything: the warm, cozy atmosphere, good service, and delicious food. Classic European (French) cuisine. Good wine. I tried frog legs for the first time! The meat was delicious and tender. The hostess greeted us at the entrance. The host himself chose a wine for us that paired perfectly with our dishes. We were very pleased and will definitely return again.

My husband and I have come here 2 years in a row for our date night. Everything was consistently delicious. The escargot is indescribable. Its just so good. I ordered the filet mignon au poivre, medium rare and my husband had the buffalo steak, medium rare. They were both cooked to perfection. Sliced like butter and the flavor was on point. The sides were scalloped potatoes and green beans. The potatoes were extremely rich but absolutely delicious and the green beans were cooked and seasoned well. I cannot say enough good things about the food here. The servers are prompt, attentive, and helpful. We’ve had a lovely experience both times and will be sure to come back again.

We decided to try this place for my husbands birthday and loved it. The food and wine were perfect. Large portions so if you plan on sampling their soups like we did, you might want to share an entree. Not to mention the delicious French bread.

This is my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. I live for authentic French cuisine and Le Chene does it just right! Every time I come to Le Chene the food, service, and ambiance is exceptional. The gardens in the patio area are lovely and always well kept. Love that I get the chance to buy their house made salad dressing when I visit! This is a must visit restaurant and do not skip out on the escargot!

I made reservations for Father’s day dinner. The atmosphere was very lovely, very quaint and romantic feel. Love the white table clothes and staff was super friendly. Food was ok. I ordered the escargot and it was pretty tasty. We ordered the pork chop, frog legs, halibut, and strawberry chicken. It wasn’t the best french cuisine I’ve had and my dish was really salty. But I would come back for the escargot and the atmosphere. Easy parking, beautiful scenery, friendly staff and lovely overall experience.

LeChene is a wonderful place to eat. I had the cordon bleu eggs, which were very good, and the New York steak was excellent. It’s no surprise this restaurant has such a high rating. The only thing that could be improved is the tap water.

Cute place. Came here for a brunch and art show. The staff was nice minus the person upfront seating people who was a little bossy and stressed out probably because of the art event and all the people without reservations.

The food was pretty good but very heavy for me. We shared a bowl of French onion soup which was very good. Ceasars salad was decent. For my main course I had the Filet Rouqfort with soft scrambled eggs and scalloped potato’s. My wife had the chicken cordon Bleu with poached egg, hollandaise and scalloped potato’s. For desert we had something given to us that looked like titanium but it had more of a very light cheesecake texture and an almond cake crust that was simply Devine.

It was a nice experience but my wife said she wouldn’t necessarily be jumping to go back anytime soon.

The art show was going this day and that was simply wonderful and we got several paintings. The garden is beautiful and it was a really pleasant day at Le Chene.

We came to this fine dining French restaurant for Valentine’s Day it was absolutely exquisite. We started with shrimp escoffier appetizer that was out of this world. We had salad, prime rib, au gratin potatoes, green beans, wine and the best hot bread with butter we had ever tasted. When did with a lemon tarte. Our waiter was excellent and his name was Edison. He came to the table just the right amount of times really superb service. I spoke to the owner before I left to tell him how great it was. You should definitely try this restaurant. Be sure to make reservations

Been here enough times to write about it now.

Upon walking in we’re always greeted immediately.
I’ve sat on the outside patio and inside dining area near the bar and at the bar.

This time I opted for the bar. They told me they have a happy hour. Who doesn’t like a good happy hour?

Ordered lobster ravioli.
French onion soup.
I’ve also had the duck.
Next I want to try the beef bourguignon.

Lobster ravioli. The sauce is good. But the ravioli tastes previously frozen…. Just be aware. Is it bad? No not at all. Would I order it again? Nope.

French onion soup.
Traditional and properly made.
The broth is not to salty and perfectly savory.
Onions caramelized to perfection. Cheese over bread melted perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend their onion soup.

Duck. So I’ve had it two different times. The first time it was so dry I couldn’t eat it. Second time it was PERFECT. I don’t know if it was an off day or what the first time. Seemed busy as heck so maybe it was overlooked/overcooked.

Overall this is a fantastic restaurant. They’ve been here for over 40 years and obviously there’s a good reason they’ve stayed in business that long.
The food is good. The seating is great. Atmosphere is great.

Only reason for the 4 instead of 5 is due to the issues I mentioned.

Would I recommend d this place?
Absolutely. Try it out and enjoy!

Food: above average.
Decor: outdated but homey.
Staff: excellent, no issues.
Bathroom. Clean.

We may have built this place bigger in our minds but it was not the experience we anticipated. Food was okay but did not have the flavor anticipated. The escargot was spot on and so was the black bean soup. We may try again but with so many incredible restaurants it may be a while.
