Service was outstanding throughout: attentive, friendly, and highly professional. Shannon the Bar Manager was always doing something and keeping an eye on all the guests. The bruschetta was exceptional—among the best I’ve had, including memorable meals in Italy. The salmon entrée was perfectly prepared, moist and flavorful, with a delicate caper sauce that clearly reflects a skilled chef. Dessert and coffee were excellent and enjoyed at a comfortable, unhurried pace.
With outstanding food, polished service, live music, and a refined yet inviting atmosphere, Cortesse’s Bistro truly stands out among St. Augustine’s best restaurants. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors seeking an exceptional dining experience.
The service we had was great. The waiters and waitresses serving us were quick, efficient, and very kind.
The holiday drink menu was great! The dinner options were pretty good. I got the steak and really enjoyed it! The chocolate cake for dessert was okay, pretty dry.
There was a piano bar we went to afterwards which was lively and fun.
I would consider going again, just probably not with a group that large.
The ambiance was beautiful, calm and surprisingly quiet so we could enjoy conversation.
The Trout, Salmon and Chicken Parmesan were all delightful.
Limoncello cake and Pumpkin pie were both tasty treats.
The service is always impeccable — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food is consistently delicious, from fresh seafood and pasta to perfectly prepared daily specials. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite.
I had the pleasure of chatting with the owner today — such a nice guy, clearly passionate about his craft and this community. This is the kind of independent restaurant we need to support and share with friends. Whether you’re a local or visiting from out of town, don’t miss Cortesse’s Bistro. It’s the kind of place you’ll fall in love with and want to return to again and again.
Thank you, Valerie, for the wonderful service and cheer!
We had the Macedonian salads. And, Garlic knots. The Macedonian salads were full of fresh and flavorful veggies and kalamata olives. The feta cheese was a perfect amount and it was of great quality and flavor. The garlic knots were fresh, delicious and the homemade marinara was perfectly made with excellent flavor as well.
It’s a well hidden gem that many may not realize has reopened since it was closed for so long. The signature drinks, and menu options are great. And, the Piano Bar is open every evening. They headline a man named Matt who played the piano in the Broadway musical “Movin Out” which is a musical from songs of Billy Joel.
Our server Donna was very attentive, and friendly. She ensured that we had all that we needed and was very accommodating from start to finish. The time from seating, ordering and receiving drinks and food was perfect!!!
We look forward to returning.
The service was a total collapse of professional standards. It took fifty minutes just for a Caesar salad to show up, and the rest of our entrees never even materialized. When we finally decided to cut our losses and ask for the check, the manager’s only excuse for the neglect was that she was “too busy” to oversee our service. For a place that positions itself as a fine dining destination, the lack of accountability was just staggering.
The situation turned even worse when the bill arrived and they tried to force a 20% service fee on the full amount of a meal we never actually received. The manager was disappointingly rude and remained so combative about the gratuity that we were actually forced to involve the police. Even the responding officers agreed that we should only be held responsible for what was actually served. It’s a shame that such a beautiful location is overshadowed by such unprofessional management; I’d strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere if you value genuine hospitality.
