1st time visiting on vacation so we tried local flavors here we dont get at home. I tried the Hot honet Jersey sandwich. The first thing I noticed was it was lacking actual chicken. Their most expensive sandwich I believed would be stuffed, it was but with a lot of greens. I mean a lot. The sesame roll was beyond chewable but i toughed through every bite. It was supposed to have a bunch of spring peppers on it, there were 3 total on both halves. The peppers would have helped a bunch. The hot honey sauce was underwhelming and over all I would rate this sandwich a 6 out of 10. The canolis were described as made fresh to order, this may be true though the actual wrap seemed quite old and crumbled apon touching. The filling looked devine but was a huge disappointment. It was not creamy, it was however grainy and seem unmixed altogether. A tough pill to swallow for such a basic favorite common pastry. The flavor was very plain. Sorry but true. We have had better cheesteaks everywhere. So hard to mess them up but very light on the cheese and underfilled for the roll size here in NJ. The real winner was the chocolate mountain cake which may actually have been store bought. Got an extra slice to go and discussed the meal privately in the car ride home. These conclusions were all agreed by the 3 of us. Not worth a return for food. The staff was excellent and the restaurant was very sharp, clean, and appealing. As some reviews have stated this place is inconsistent. I wouldnt go again. My wife asked me not to do this; I though I had too. I invested hours of time watching and reading food reviews before our trip. Inconsistent can in no way describe the feeling on vacation that lower your expectations when dining out with family. I had to leave this honest review for the next unsuspecting hopeful family on vacation. Over all, this place is a 6 out of 10.

Had a great visit at Mario’s Pizzarea! We sat outside and enjoyed the great weather and experienced very kind staff. We came to this restaurant twice on our trip to Ocean City due to the cities lack of vegan options and both times were really good! They have a great tomato sauce and Mario’s has a dedicated vegan menu if you ask for it in the restaurant. The vegan chicken parmesan had a great flavor! I felt like it could’ve been cooked a bit longer though. The vegan pizza was good! Again, they have a great tomato sauce and they didn’t put on too much vegan cheese which is great. They have vegan sausage as well as vegan pepperoni available on the menu. I would skip on the vegan garlic bread, was dry and didn’t really satisfy. Overall, I would for sure return here if in the area again! They also had a vegan dessert menu, but we did not try any of those. Keep it up Mario’s and thank you for having vegan options!

We ordered pizza to go and also tried their gelato. The pizza crust was really good—crispy and flavorful. The highlight though was the Italian rainbow cookie gelato—absolutely delicious and unique! The only downside was the wait time—we had to wait about 45 minutes for the pizza. Worth it in the end, but just be prepared if you’re in a rush.

My first time coming and I absolutely love this establishment. It’s soon become my favorite pizzeria in Ocean City. Attentive staff, quick service, comfortable environment. The food was delicious, can’t wait to try more !!

We have ordered for Mario’s many times and always enjoyed our food. However, my most recent order was very disappointing. I ordered chicken piccata. As always, there was plenty of pasta with the dish. The chicken was not floured before frying, making it very . It had no seasoning whatsoever and was extremely dry. Also, the pasta was not seasoned very well and had very little lemon flavor to it. Overall, it was a surprising disappointment. I’m going to chalk this up as just a bad night and hope that the next time it’s better.

This is a great place to have a decent meal. The pizza is pretty good. The pasta I ordered was made well, and seemed to be made with quality ingredients. However, it desperately needed some salt/seasoning. But after adding some salt, pepper, and some grated cheese, it was amazing! Shrimp was fantastic, and so were the scallops. I would definitely recommend giving these guys a try!

Amazing vegan pizza!! So creamy and didn’t stick to my teeth like many vegan cheeses! So great to have an amazing option down the shore! I ordered from here 3 times during my week there- would highly recommend!

Ate lunch inside. Cute decor, LOTS of flies though. Food was good. Pizza slightly overcooked for us. Penne aglio e olio was VERY garlicky and salty. Eggplant was breaded, nice and thin with great tasting sauce. Mozzarella sticks were good.

Food was excellent ! Chicken parm and eggplant rollatini were so good, and we had left overs ! Place was busy when we got there but we’re seated quickly and the service was excellent. The red sauce was SO fresh. Owners take a lot of pride, we’re seen walking around talking to customers and even bussing tables. Great experience.

We order here often and more so off season once the town mellows down a bit from the summer chaos. It’s always been a little bit on the pricey side, but I do have to admit that in my opinion I think their pizza is delicious. That being said though I just ordered for the first time since before summer, I’d usually get 2 large pies and it would cost me 38$…I just ordered tonight a large pie and a small margarita pie and the total was a little over 40$ my large pie looks more like a medium pie now as well. So price went up more and sizing of pie went down. And they now charge a fee to pay over the phone which I never had to do before. So this is why my review is 2 stars. I don’t think this will be our go to pizza place anymore just because of cost alone, but I will say if price doesn’t matter their pizza is truly delicious.
