Despite the 3.9 score on reviews for this place I decided to give this place a try to cater for an event under the recommendation of a friend. I was told their food was really good but their dine in service can use improvement. There for I did trust the recommendation and very glad I did the pernil arroz con gandules and roasted chicken was a great choice very nice fresh and tender amazing seasoning. Everyone at the party complemented and asked where did I hot it from. Many got up for a second round as the portions were very generous for the very fair price that I paid for. Im only giving it the 4 stars rating because days prior to my event I did wanted to try the food and went to dine in with a couple of friends and yes food is amazing but their dine in can use improvement in attention and efficiency.

I tried calling just now but the lady told me she only speak a little English and I don’t speak Spanish. So I’m leaving a review bc it’s ridiculous to get crappy food and not even be able to call in and ask questions. My coworkers and I ordered food today from Meson. I was very excited because I LOVE their empanadas and food overall. I got beef and chicken – 5 in total which is $15. They had no seasoning. They were dry like you need to drink something to get them down and absolutely no sauce to go with them. I called to see if the recipe has changed but I wasn’t able to communicate. Now four of them are in the garbage. Absolutely disgraceful empanadas. Just cooked ground beef. No flavor. Dry. Just cooked chicken. No flavor. Dry. The maduros – not great. I ordered masitas de puerco which were also dry even w some lime juice. $33 total I owed and hated every bit of it.
Also the website to order is not as functional as it should be but better than it used to be!? lol.
Not happy today. I literally threw my money away. And right after the holidays no less. If I get a better meal next time I’ll change the review.
I would be absolutely embarrassed to send these empanadas I received to customers and let the quality represent my business.
One thing about Meson – in all the years they’ve been open, there’s never consistency and at this point, the business should be a well-oiled machine. Sometimes, you get a sauce w empanadas and sometimes you don’t. Today when it was terribly needed to combat the extra dry food, there wasn’t any. Today was actually the worst empanadas I ever received and bad enough to make me really have to find a new place to order from esp when I can’t call them and discuss it. How do you serve all these Americans and not have anyone to speak to them?

Very tasty authentic Dominican food. We ordered the breakfast (desayuno), the beef empanadas and papa relleno and they all came out piping hot and super delicious!!! And they do not skimp on the fillings for the empanadas! First bite and I got nothing but beef! Incredible

I was in the mood for some spanish food and its been a while since I been there. I ordered the steak pieces with yellow rice and black beans. They must of been busy in the morning because I was put on hold for a while. After I ordered I walked over to the place and the food was ready for me. It came to a little over $9. I went back home and dug in. The food was ok but there was plenty that I couldn’t eat in one sitting. The steak was kinda dry which was the biggest thing for me but the other items are good. I had a decent experience.

Really did not like it. Food was burnt, oily and unpleasurable. Tostones were hard, shrimp mofongo left a weird aftertaste….nothing was enjoyable. Spent over $100 and no one ate.

Service was great and the food was excellent. The prices are a bit high, but when you get your food and see the portions they give you, it is completely worth it. I could only eat half of mine before entering a food coma. So I technically got 2 meals for the price of one.
