All 3 stars are for our super friendly waitress. We started with the fried gator. I tried 2 bites and both were super chewy. It was like chewing on pork chop gristle. I had a cup of gumbo. It didn’t taste anything like gumbo. Very bland and it had tiny salad shrimp in it. We split the seafood platter. The fish, shrimp, and oysters were ok. No seasoning though. The crab cake? Grooooss. Smelled super fishy and it was wet and mushy on the inside. The au gratin patotes were icky as well and tasted like they just melted a sheet of Kraft cheese on red potatoes. The slaw was very good. The bloody marys are very good as well. Theres way too much on the menu. They should slim it down and perfect the dishes they keep. Prices super high for bland frozen food in a restaurant that looks like a hospital cafeteria with bottled water and canned sodas.

Our hotel recommended Pier 51 for dinner. Though under renovations at the time, the dinner was fantastic! We had the chicken and sausage gumbo and the red beans and rice with sausage and both were phenomenal! Our fried mushroom appetizer was also delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and took great care of us.

We are staying in LaPlace and popped in for a bite and some drinks. It’s definitely a place for locals. For some reason the diners and an old man at the bar were staring at us. I assure you that we’re very normal, ordinary looking people.
The menu is a bit overwhelming, plus you have to take a picture off all the cards stuck to the hostess podium to look over the multitude of specials. Service was friendly and fast, and the prices were reasonable. Food was okay.
Overall, its not a bad place, but I think the locals enjoy it more than travelers do.

Interesting spot. I had just finished having an adventure in the area and was hungry, so I came here. The food was ok. All of the wait staff seemed a bit tired. I got “The Meal Deal” which had 3 fried fish sticks, 3 fried shrimp, fries, hush puppies, corn on the cob and coleslaw. It hit the spot, but I am not sure if it was in a good way or bad way.

The wait staff is all very nice. It was not that busy though and our waitress had kind of a hard time keeping up. The food was great. We enjoyed our lunch and our time spent together. Will probably visit this place again.

We passed by this place on our way back from Slidell and it was really good. We had the calamari and the oysters and starters and the kids split a chicken finger and my husband got a shrimp Poboy that he said was very good.

We arrived in LaPlace to visit relatives and had time before our visit to have lunch. Google must’ve been playing a joke by sending us here.
Red beans and rice were room temperature and tasted like they were warmed up over and over. It was thick and mushy with 3 tiny shrimps and I’m not sure what else was in it. They forgot to add flavor to just about everything.
We should’ve known when we we the only ones in there the entire time. We arrived at 2:20. Hush puppies were served with hard butter. My club soda served bottled was frozen and came out like a slushy with no bubbles. We each ordered gumbo which came out first.

It was Great!! Great Food, Great Service, Friendly Folks and down right fresh food and it was Great!!! The Alligator was top Notch!!! Crawfish Corn Chowder! It was Great and look forward to going back again soon.
