Delicious coconut curry soup (I got Tom Kha Gai) and Massaman curry, good Thai ice tea, generous appetizer portions and great friendly and attentive service.

Have had lunch and a birthday dinner here, recommend.

Overall an awesome place! Atmosphere and service were great. Very authentic Thai feeling. Service was kind and helpful. I had the drunken noodles and my husband had the chili paste fried rice. Both were impeccable. So good. 5/5 food! Would definitely go back and recommend!

So Delicious! We ordered six different dishes to share, all gluten free, all amazing. The owners are kind and welcoming, and they have a son with celiac disease so they were careful with our dishes from experience. We will happily come back next time we are in Saint Paul. Highly recommend!!!!

They are so good, I drive 30 min to eat here. Honestly I would easily drive an hour. The staff are super nice and welcoming. One time (years ago) I was not feeling the best and I was offered a soup that would make me feel better, they even made sure to check if I was vegetarian (I am) to make it vegetarian. It was the best most amazing soup and hit the spot. I miss being only a couple miles away.

Another stop on the Twin Cites Vegan Chef Challenge list!

Their challenge dish:

Thai Sweet Chili Tofu

Stir-fried tofu, mixed vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, bell pepper, onion, carrot and green beans), sesame seed topping

Thoughts:
The green beans were perfectly cooked for this dish and the portion was generous.

While I enjoyed this dish, I’m more excited to have found another St. Paul restaurant with plenty of veggie options. I’m a fan of curry and that’s what I’ll try next! The menu was clearly labeled to show which options could be made vegan. The fresh spring rolls were my favorite that I’ve had around town.

Service was kind and enthusiastic, the chef even came out and asked what we thought of the new dish and was excited about it!

Patio seating is available and there’s a large parking lot behind this stretch of businesses which made parking easy.

Love this place! Huge, flavorful portions. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken. All the ingredients meshed together so well. Wife ordered basil stir fry and couldn’t stop eating lol. We both took home enough for a second full meal (again, the portions). Fried tofu appetizer was great with a nice, subtle dipping sauce. Finished with the mango sticky rice for dessert. Very comforting. Such great bang for your buck here. Staff were nice and very accommodating for gluten free needs.

I don’t see how this place has good reviews. They told me they were out of sticky rice. How can a Thai restaurant run out of sticky rice in the middle of the day on University Ave. Central location to many Asian grocery stores. Sticky rice is a staple to Thai/Lao food. I’m thinking maybe they just don’t have enough customers who knows how good sticky rice is with Thai/Lao food that they don’t make it anymore. The chicken wings had No flavor. The white rice was Not even good and it’s White rice. Also had spring rolls. The wrapper was soggy and mushy. There was No other meat in it except small pieces of shrimp. The dipping sauce seemed like it wasn’t fresh and had been refrigerated for several days. The temperature in the restaurant was very cold maybe No heat on. I also had the grilled steak laab. That also did not taste fresh. They did throw in a ton of lemongrass and red onions so it masked the flavor of the steak. The steak was also very cold like it had been prepped prior and refrigerated. The only thing that was Ok was the deep fried cream cheese in a wonton wrapper. I regret stopping in since I work hard for the $ I spent. We happened to be in the area. I should have known it wasn’t going to be good when I walked in and there were no Asian customers. I will Not be back unless I hear the food improves and I usually don’t give reviews but others need to know.

Updated 2024: Thai Garden is my absolute favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. I have been coming here since the day they opened, and I show it to everyone who visits and wants to try local food. Long and Ginger, the owners, are the kindest people, always friendly and welcoming whenever we visit.

My favorite dish here is the Pad Lard Na, a hearty noodle dish with a flavorful brown gravy, veggies, and the protein of your choice. The noodles are homemade daily, thick and delicious. The presentation is impeccable, every detail beautifully arranged for aesthetic perfection.

That said, I often still have a hard time deciding what to order, as there are so many amazing options for the current mood and context. The noodle dishes are always solid, the curries and stir fries are amazing, and the pho is top notch.

We always get an order of the spring rolls, which are a superb start to any meal. We also often like to order a Thai coffee, a beautiful and delicious cool drink with swirling white and orange, a kick of flavor, and plenty of spirit.

I recommend this place to everyone. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring everyone you know. We love Thai Garden!

You have to go here. You will be astonished.
The best service I have ever experienced. I have a lot of food allergies & because basically everything here is homemade they were able to accommodate my needs. The chef & the waitress are so kind & accommodating.
All fresh ingredients, the vegetables were crispy. The dishes are tasty & well balanced.
