We started on the Newcastle quayside market in 2016 with one thing in mind – bringing the cheeseburger back to its American roots of quality, flavour and simplicity to deliver the best burger out there. We source the best beef available from rare and traditional breed cows and mix a bespoke selection of cuts into our patties. We smash them into a raging hot grill, cover in cheese, stack them in double or triples, then steam to melt everything together. Our sauces and seasonings are freshly made in house and are designed to complement the beefy flavours we create. We have a fantastic team and we pride ourselves in looking after them so they can relax and give you the most enjoyable experience. Our food is all made to order and served fast

The best fries I’ve eaten anywhere, ever. Life changing, perception altering fries. I’m strongly considering creating my own religious group specifically about their fries. The guy preaching on briggate will never be heard from again as I bellow my love for these fries across Leeds. The world will know about these fries, my pilgrimage across the globe will spread the word of meat stack fries. Be warned, you will never want to eat fries anywhere else again.

Burger was nice too.

Very nice indeed – burger was bit smaller than I was expecting for the price (£10 for the classic, extra fiver for the excellent skin on beef dripping fries and refill sofa) and very wet, I’d like to know if this is a steamed burger rather than chargrilled (EDIT: it is, two x steamed smashed patties, which explains the unique consistency). But a very tasty burger, great west coast vibes throughout and awesome soundtrack!! Will return, a strong 7.5/10

Wouldn’t eat here again.

The food was honestly awful — completely lacking in flavour. The burger was bland, dry, and nothing special at all, and the chips, although freshly made, somehow tasted stale. I spent £10 on a burger, fries, and a drink and didn’t enjoy a single bite. The “ranch” sauce they serve is nothing like ranch — it’s more of a cheap chilli cheese dip, and not a good one either. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone; save your money and eat elsewhere. The only positive was the service, which was excellent, but unfortunately the food lets the place down massively.

Same great experience as in Newcastle. All beef/lamb burgers can be done gluten free (wish this was more obviously displayed on the menu!)
Got the Christmassy carvery burger, gluten free without the crispy onions
Still very quiet inside at lunchtime with the train station works on

I haven’t visited since they first opened (my fault, not theres), but nothing has changed. I got a warm welcome from the friendly server, the New Mexico burger was great and the beef dripping fries were a worthy upgrade. A great casual meal venue, I’ll be back sooner this time!

Wow… where to start. Currently sat at the table in Meat:Stack having scranned the most delicious smash burger in my entire life. Complete with three (or was it four) burger patties, a battered breast of chicken, onions, homemade pickles, skin-on-French-fries and, the sauce; exquisite!!!! For foodies, meat-lovers, American diner fans, and pretty much everyone else – I could not recommend Meat:Stack in Leeds more!!! You must visit!

American Burgers in Leeds!

Having lived in Florida for about 20 years, I’ve got high standards when it comes to burgers. After moving to the UK five years ago, I’ve been searching for a spot that could replicate that classic American burger experience. I’ve finally found it! This place is as close as you can get to the real deal, right down to the American mustard and cheese. It’s like a little slice of home in Leeds.

I was in the shop early one day and had the privilege of being the first burger off the grill. Watching them cook, I could tell they really know what they’re doing. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the whole experience was top-notch. The flavors were excellent, and the burgers themselves were perfectly cooked. The variety of options on the menu is impressive, so there’s something for everyone.

If you’re looking for an authentic American-style burger in Leeds, this is definitely the place to be! Great food, great people, and definitely worth the visit.

It’s been a while since I last went to Meat:Stack. But today’s experience was not a let down. I ordered a quarter pounder. It was fantastic. I also ordered kids meals for the children. £3 each for burgers, fries, drinks and ice cream. Insane deal for a treat! I’ll be back!
