Banjo is the cutest little coffee shop in Avondale Estates! Their staff is always so personal and kind and really love getting to know their customers. Their menu not only includes delicious coffee but also amazing foods- my favorite being their classic breakfast burrito, which I could eat any time of day. While their inside space has limited seating, on a beautiful day, their outside patio is the place to be. Thankful for local shops like Banjo.

These lovely beings provide such a chill atmosphere for the neighborhood. Looking forward to millennial karaoke 😉 The cortado with a splash of oat milk is my favorite, but it was fun to add in chocolate cherry when I was there the other day. The first sip straight up tasted like drinking a thick hot chocolate with dark cherry undertones… not sweet but more like dark chocolate cherry bitter, yum. I also order the biscuit with egg, chz, and veggie sausage OR the burrito with veggie sausage, no chz, no beans &aoli on the side, often.. can’t go wrong! Oh! And the pastries are also Divine!

Over the last three days, we probably hit this coffee shop more than eight times since it was the closest spot to our training. Every single time I ordered the same drink—a cortado—sometimes hot, sometimes iced. And every time, it was spot-on: perfect consistency, rich flavor, not drowned in milk.

When I asked for an iced cortado, they made it without hesitation, no pushback at all. In other places, I’ve had baristas try to swap it for an iced flat white or cappuccino, but here they just did exactly what I asked for, which I really appreciated.

Can’t say anything about the food since we didn’t order any pastries or meals, but the staff was super friendly, polite, and easy to talk to. They even remembered names, which was a nice touch.

The vibe overall was great—chill spot to sit down, read, work, or just hang out with friends. It’s definitely not a grab-and-go type place. You can actually slow down and enjoy your coffee in a really nice atmosphere.

Best veggie sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit I’ve had anywhere! All the coffee and tea drinks are top tier. The pastries are all locally made or made in store. They are so delicious! Literally everything is good here. The staff is friendly and helpful. The perfect coffee shop.

I love this spot! I’ve gotten the avocado toast with eggs (huge portion, maybe split?) and I’ve also gotten the breakfast burrito before. My favorite drink is the iced chai latte and I love the iced vanilla latte too. The baristas are always so friendly, and the ambience is great! There’s outdoor seating too. It is on the pricier side but it’s a good ethical cafe.

I wanted to write a review for the Banjo Coffee that is 4+ years in the making, simply because they are such an awesome business and deserve it! We’ve been in Avondale since 2021 and are relocating out of the state in January. Without a doubt Banjo is the #1 Avondale business we will dearly miss.

When we moved to Avondale in 2021, Banjo became an immediate staple. I couldn’t begin to even guess how many times we’ve stopped in; multiple times a week and on some occasions multiple times per day. The quality of their coffee has always been consistently excellent, I’ll be dreaming of their cold brew for years to come.

The staff has been attentive, friendly and experienced. Banjo gets swamped with customers on the weekends, but the team has processes in place to handle the volume & they do it cohesively. Special shoutout to Nick & Gwen, they’ve been there for a long time and have always been pleasant folks to chat with when I stop in. I do not know the owner’s name, but I recognize her and she has always been super nice when we’ve conversed.

The location is perfect. With Avondale chugging along with additional development, I know Banjo will continue to represent their brand across Avondale while making a positive impact on the community.

Thanks for all the awesome business and even better coffee, Banjo team! We will be coming in as much as possible before we move out in January 🙂

Extremely disappointing. Bad coffee masquerading as good. Draft cold brew served with ice…I wouldn’t expect that with beer or wine, and I don’t expect it with coffee. Unadvertised low fat or no fat biscuits spoiled even the yummy Pine Street pork $34 later…next time I’ll pick McDonald’s. There are some great coffee shops nearby but this ain’t one of em. On a positive note the place has a great vibe and a beautiful minimalist display of a single banjo on the wall behind the counter. If you like a cool local place to visit but don’t care about coffee, then this is it!

Cute little coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating is limited (4-5 small tables i think), but there are elec outlets for connecting a device to work at. They make good Lattes, which was the only thing I tasted.

The coffee is better than the tea lattes, in my opinion. I am really intrigued by the breakfast burrito. I really want to try it. The staff was very nice. Just we went on a Saturday at like 9:30 and it was packed and loud because it is a small space.

Best salted caramel latte and breakfast burritos. Also the staff is always very warm and inviting, even when they’re slammed.
