Latte: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We went for brunch today and it was a great experience. As a French restaurant and café, the flavours were lovely — especially the gruyère chicken sandwich paired with the French onion soup, and the latte was rich and smooth.
The ambience is warm and inviting with a Parisian bistro‑like vibe — elegant yet relaxed, perfect for a brunch date or a lazy weekend meal. Reviews also highlight that it’s a popular brunch spot with beautifully presented dishes and attentive service. Reservations are recommended because it can get busy, especially on weekend mornings.
Overall, a delightful brunch and a cosy spot to enjoy French flavours in Halifax!
My server was a bit impatient as I asked questions around the menu, so it was as enjoyable of a meal as I had anticipated.
The food was great! I gotten a smoked salmon crêpe and substituted my poached eggs for scrambled. The macchiato was lovely.
We ordered the Seared Salmon, Œufs Bénédicte, London Fog, Cappuccino, and Pain au Chocolat. The Pain au Chocolat was excellent — easily the highlight of the visit. The drinks were also very good, and the overall taste of the food was enjoyable.
However, the Seared Salmon was disappointing for the price. At $35, the portion was quite small and the plate was mostly fries, which didn’t feel like good value.
Overall, it was an okay experience with some standout items, but the pricing versus portion size could be improved.
If you’re in the area I highly recommend.
Their brunch menu is divine – and espresso drinks (lattes, cappuccinos etc) are excellent.
In the afternoons- catch their Happy hr before 6 pm, which has excellent deals (like a glass of bubbly with frites for $10-) and their main menu is excellent- French onion soup, salads, beef bourguignon on pommes alicot, etc.
And with the best crème brûlée ever? Say no more…
The four breakfasts were delicious.
I have only two complaints, first I asked for a Mimosa and the amount of prosecco is very small, I corroborated it when I saw how it was prepared for another table. Second, the waiter tried a few times to avoid our table.
I am not a brunch person, but the experience was nice.
The decor is amazing. The place feels fresh and cozy. Service was A+.
Will be back for sure on our next visit to Halifax.
The interior itself was stunning, elegant, and chic. Overall, a beautiful place to enjoy a meal.
We started with the Steak Tartare and French Onion Soup, both of which were delicious. The portion sizes were also just right and everything was seasoned nicely.
For my main, I went with the French Onion Burger. I liked the concept and was excited to see how they’d bring their signature soup flavour into a burger format. The meal was pretty solid, but it didn’t really capture the same magic as the soup we had. The fries were a touch salty for my taste, but still enjoyable.
We were served by David throughout, who was friendly and professional. We definitely felt taken care of from start to finish!
Overall, Café Lunette is a pretty spot near the harbourfont with great service and nice French-inspired dishes.
