Food was fresh and good but what was that Operational Charge hidden in the bill? I need to pay extra to ensure the shop stays afloat? This extra hidden charge just leaves a bad taste for local residents

High quality food and coffee in a super clean and modern atmosphere. Highly recommend the matcha latte and the Eggs Benedict, which they place on deliciously dense croissants as opposed to English muffins.

Nice matcha latte and cappuccino is good. We ate the Mexican grilled cheese sandwich, very juicy and the dipping sauce is so refleshing with a little sour. Love it!

I have loved For Five and have been a regular customer for years. The food is great and the atmosphere is perfect for catching up with a friend or doing work. However, my positive experiences have been tainted by being approached and spoken to in an extremely rude tone by the blond barista. I had ordered and eaten a (way too expensive) meal and the plates had been cleared. As I was minding my own business enjoying the atmosphere and clearly trying to focus doing work with headphones in, I was approached as if I was not a paying customer and told in a very offputting tone, “You cant sit here without ordering”. I was totally shaken up and disgusted by how I was spoken to given that I come here often and bring in a lot of business. Needless to say, while I’ve loved this place, I will be looking to go to other For Five locations.

This is a nice little shop in Manhasset. Honestly the drink prices are pretty good for the area, but the food is pricey. Everyone in my party enjoyed the taste of their food. The reason for the three stars is that 1, nice coffee shops like this should be serving in non-disposable dishes for customers dining in-store, and 2, the plates for the food were way too small for the portions, leading to a messy eating experience. Overall a nice place though!

We came here during the weekend for some quick iced coffee. Parking was easy, it wasn’t busy so we were able to snag one of the two-hour spots across the street. Very cozy and modern atmosphere. They seem clean too. Menu had plenty of choices – we settled just for a standard iced coffee which was decent. Customer service was quick and professional. We would come here again. Neighborhood is also quiet and nice to walk around while sipping on coffee.

I was really excited to try this coffee shop, the atmosphere seemed great, and I had heard good things. But sadly, the experience didn’t live up to the hype.
Right away, I noticed how overpriced the menu was. Still, I decided to give it a shot, thinking maybe the quality or creativity of the food would justify the cost. Spoiler: it didn’t.
When the food came out, the presentation was beautiful, no complaints there. But once we started eating, it quickly became clear that the dishes were nothing special. One standout disappointment was the French toast, which was topped with canned peaches. For the price we paid, I expected fresh ingredients at the very least.
In total, we spent $75 on a simple brunch for two at a coffee shop and honestly, that’s just outrageous. The food and drinks were no better than what you’d get at a regular café or diner for a fraction of the cost.
I really wanted to like this place, but I left feeling disappointed and regretful. Safe to say, I won’t be back.

Ordering was smooth and the food itself was actually very good — no complaints there. Unfortunately, the experience was completely ruined by how we were treated by one staff member (a middle-aged blonde woman). She approached my fiancé in an extremely rude way and told us that if we wanted to stay and do work we had to order something — even though we had already spent about $70 on brunch and had only been sitting there around 20 minutes.
Isn’t the whole point of a coffee shop to relax, talk, and get some work done? It wasn’t even about whether we ordered more — it was the tone and the way we were spoken to. Our table had just been cleared and instead of being treated like paying customers, we were made to feel like a problem. Sadly, because of how poorly we were treated over nothing, this place has lost our business. Do better.

I think that cafes where you can go and sit have become something of a rarity nowadays. However, the prices make it so that you don’t want to come. I ordered a croissant and a chamomile tea, the price came out to $14.92. I think this emblematic of many places to go out to eat now. I would love to patronize places like this on a daily basis, but the prices make it unaffordable. If I came here every day for this very very light breakfast I would spend $447.60 in a month’s time. I ordered a cheese pie the other day (Tiropita) and spent $10. That is a laughably absurd price for such a cheap food staple. It is probably double what you would spend anywhere else. If I go again I will only order a tea, and not because I think the tea is worth $6.50, but it would only be so I can sit and read, I would see it as a “sitting fee”. You are much better off making some fresh coffee or tea at home and not bother with such places.
