Maybe they had an off day, but out of my tons of reviews this is my first bad one. And I feel bad about doing it. I got the bun bo hue. It was watery and had absolutely no spice whatsoever. The broth was clear with a slight slight tinge of red oily stuff on top. Maybe their pho is good but I wouldn’t recommend the bun bo hue. I’ve actually seen this at other places where they just try to throw some chili oil in the other soup broth and call it bun bo hue. The only problem is this one was watery also. A water flavor stood out more than a beef or chicken broth. I added a picture so you can see the slight redness around the rim and clear through to my spoon. I don’t expect my spoon to disappear but it shouldn’t be that clear.

Update-I appreciate a restaurant that cares enough to answer one customer. This was my first time there and I only tried one thing and the place was completely packed with people so I believe this wasn’t a true representation of the entire restaurant it was probably just a one-off. I will return and try some other items.

I frequent Pho Bistro and really enjoy their pho. I haven’t enjoyed much of the rest of their menu outside of the appetizers, however, that could just be my preference. The staff is generally very nice, with the exception of one of the older women that serves who tends to be a little rude. They have a pork rice dish (#50) that the pork was too hard to cut and they were unable to provide a knife stronger than a butter knife and told us they would “tell the chef” and left it at that. With that being said, the Pho and the appetizers here are consistently very good.

Service was fantastic, staff assisted my coworker with ordering a dish that she would enjoy as it was only her second time ever eating Vietnamese cuisine, and she throughly enjoyed the food. The food was delicious with fresh vegetables and flavored tender meats. Prices are good for the quality and quantity of food. Always a favorite place to eat when I’m on that side of town!

This is a pretty decent spot for some Vietnamese food. Pho Bistro has a wide selection of authentic Vietnamese food on their menu to choose from. The service here is excellent and quick.

I ordered several different types of Vietnamese dishes during my visit; pork bao, Mi Xao crispy egg noodle seafood, and Vietnamese iced coffee.

Pork Bao: A 5/5! The pork with the spicy mayo sauce is a chef kiss. I love how well balance all of the flavors are in the pork bao.

Mi Xao seafood crispy egg noodle: A 2/5. I was quite disappointed in the taste and the egg noodle selection that they used for this dish. The egg noodle has a different taste and texture to it compared to the Chinese version of this dish where the crispy egg noodles are crunchy, solid, and compliments the sauce. The sauce in this dish was not that good unfortunately, it was quite salty to the point that it overwhelmed the rest of the seafood, vegetables, and noodle.

Vietnamese iced coffee: A 4/5. The Vietnamese iced coffee does has a strong bitter after taste like how it should be. However, I would say that I have had other Vietnamese iced coffee that was more balance and sweet without the strong bitter after taste. Still, the amount of Vietnamese iced coffee that I got was very generous at a reasonable price.

Delicious! If it weren’t for the fly in my tea I would have rated it a 5-star.. Food was very flavorful. Best in St Tammany Parish for taste for sure. Ambiance could stand improvement. Value for portion size and price was perfect. We will be back and we don’t live in Slidell.. We ordered bottled waters after sending the teas back. Also I recommend the fruit smoothies minus the tapeoka balls…way too many balls made it difficult to just drink the smoothie and it was yummy..

The most discussing food I’ve had in a long time. The service was good. However, the food was not seasoned AT ALL. It was cold. Nasty. Had the chicken curry and it tasted like dirt I swear, with sticky rice. The egg rolls weren’t the traditional egg rolls. It was one shrimp wrapped and deep fried. Like where’s the cabbage and stuff man?! But because I didn’t want pork rolls, they created something else. I drove 15 minutes for slop.

I’ve tried Pho a handful of times and always thought it was ok. It wasn’t until my wife and I decided to go to Pho Bistro for a Tuesday lunch date and it completely changed my mind. We ordered the #14 Pho Tai Nam and it was absolutely delicious! The Pho came out hot and with the freshest of Ingredients. We also ordered the #54 Com Bo Luc Lac. It was a stir fried steak and onions served with steamed rice. It was fantastic! Our waitress was great. She was very polite and attentive. She recommended the #54 and we ran with it. Her recommendation did not disappoint!

I highly recommend Pho Bistro. If you’re in Slidell or passing through the area it is most certainly a top contender and a must try. Stop in and have a seat, you won’t be disappointed.

This was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time. I was left waiting for around 30 minutes with no acknowledgment at all, while multiple people who arrived after me were served immediately. When I finally asked what was going on, the waitress didn’t apologize or try to help—she just stared at us with an attitude that felt downright disrespectful.
It’s unbelievable that a business would treat customers this way. I hope the owner sees this, because the service here desperately needs attention and improvement.

To the owner’s response: First of all, that Filipino waitress (or if she claims she doesn’t speak Vietnamese) is LYING. Shame on her. My wife and I speak both Viet and Eng and we dont have problems communicating with everyone there. This is not our first time to order food from her, so we know she doesn’t speak Vietnamese. My wife spoke to her in English and asked if we could sit on that table, and she said ok. You can ask the other waitress Tien that she told us to “sit wherever we like” and I heard that when walking in with my kids. OK, if you or that non-viet speaking waitress said we were ordering take-out, let me tell you what to do next. First, check your camera, if we ordered take-out, what did we order? Did we approach the cashier to order? If we phoned in, what number and what time did we call? What is our order ticket? I bet neither you or her can answer these. AND who would come in and sit down when ordering take-out? Nobody is that stupid…Second, Tien came by our table to give us utensils and menus. We were going to order with her because we already knew what we wanted. She said she cannot take order because someone else had to do it ??? Well, maybe I dont understand how your restaurant staff manage the work flow, but simply take the message and relay it to whoever is supposed to write down order. That sounds like a better way to handle the busy service time among the staff. Thats my suggestion for you from one business owner to another on how to manage your staff and business and also how to train your staff about CUSTOMER SERVICE. Lastly, I hope you would not take her words as we are stupid and do not know what was going on. I didn’t take her apology because she said that in a very rude and disrespectful manner.
