$3 for a tiny taco with sad meat
The steak and pork was shredded so small there wasn’t anything for the juices to sit on, so the meat was flavorless and dry. Explains the tiny salt packet that came in the to-go box.
The sauces that came with were fine, but the lime, onion, and cilantro were doing a lot of the work.
The tortillas were fine also, but thick enough (maybe a flour and corn mix?) you almost didn’t need two.
Cash only.

I had heard great things about this truck and had passed it several times. We stopped by looking for a vegan option. The owner and her daughter promised us deep fried potato tacos if we returned the next week. Just like that. Needless to say we came back and they are the most authentic tacos I’ve had in Asheville to date. Highly recommend.

Out of all the taco trucks I have tried in Asheville, Tacos La Joya serves the most delicious, most authentic tacos to date! Always served up with a smile, these tacos come with a variety of different meats, sauces, and toppings. My family always like to purchase a couple of ice cold Jaritos to wash them down with. I strongly suggest stopping by and grabbing a couple as they’re served up in a timely manner. Thanks so much Taco La Joya for the awesome food! We love you!

I love this taco trailer. I’ve only ordered steak/asada tacos the few times I’ve been there. They’re just meat, onion, and cilantro served with a lime wedge to squeeze, but they are SO good. $3/each at time of this review.
There’s a choice of red or green sauce or both. The red has an immediate and persistent heat that doesn’t overpower other flavors (I’m a pepperhead so it might burn for normal people). The green has a, well, green pepper type flavor and mid/back-end lower heat.
For the Service and Atmosphere parts of the rating: The people working it have always been friendly and the food is available in a couple of minutes if there aren’t other orders in front of you. Atmosphere: Just my opinion, but I like being able to sit on the back of my car beside the detestable New Leicester Hwy just relaxing and waiting for some good food.

From best to worst. I ate here at least once a week for almost a year. Last night it was very different and I was sick as hell. The vibe was not friendly like usual and the new guy kept glaring at us suspiciously as the tacos were being made. They tasted bad, i was given pork instead of barbacoa and I spent hours puking and worse. I’ll never go back. I’m deeply upset as Hortensia was one of my favorite people to see each week and the tacos were so good they inspired me to learn to make my own. Don’t know who the new guy is but his presence heralded the end of an era.

I spent three months riding across Mexico eating tacos for every meal, and have been across the USA several times sampling tacos from restraunts and taco trucks and I can say with 100% certainty that the pollo tacos I ordered today were the best tacos I’ve ever had. The tortillas were so fresh and soft and perfectly cooked, the onions and cilantro so fresh, and the chicken juicy and delicious. But what really did it was the hot sauce, it was spicy, really spicy, but not unreasonably spicy. It was perfect.
