An old potato warehouse renovated into a family style bar and grill – kids welcome! Serving fresh 100% certified Angus 10oz burgers and fries and much more. We also have an attached rustic Event Center to rent for weddings, receptions, meetings, Christmas parties… the sky’s the limit (optional in-house catering – call for details). Located on the side is a small convenience store and cleverly hidden in the back of the Mainline is the End of the Line Boutique. We’re a short drive from Fargo/Moorhead and the Lakes area. A gem! Small town hospitality in aces! Fresh burgers, not pre-made frozen. Fresh cut fries too! Just a 20-25 minute drive from Fargo ND. Great atmosphere at this bar and grill AND the TV is not too loud. Can actually enjoy the company of friends! Great job, and we will come again.

Stopped on our way home to Minnesota after a visit to UND. We came right as the breakfast was ending and lunch was starting. They had no problem getting our breakfast order in, and kept checking on us to keep us informed that my husbands lunch was on its way. The wait staff were really nice, very friendly. Had a nice visit with Shirley from Watertown. Just a really nice place with great food and outstanding atmosphere. We will be back!!

We enjoy watching competitive eater, Randy Santel, who aired an episode here at Mainline Bar and Grill. We happened to come across it while on a little road trip to pick up our new puppy. We enjoyed the Gym Wrecker with tots and cheese curds, in their outdoor area with our puppy in tow. A great place to eat on a beautiful day!

Didn’t want the hassle of busy Fargo so I pulled up google maps and found this place instead. Was NOT disappointed. From the extremely friendly bartenders to the AMAZING chefs in the back, this is the place you NEED to try! We did the Deluxe Santa Fe pizza and for two people, we left so beyond full.
There was also a wedding reception taking place and everyone was so well taken care of, even with the hustle and bustle. I definitely will be returning and with my appetite too!

You can never go wrong by stopping in at the Mainline. Small Town bar with small town service. That being said, the staff is incredibly friendly. You’ll feel like a regular on your first visit. Bobbie will take great care of you. My family and I frequent this place and for good reason. The only thing that can outshine the service is the food. Always hot, always delicious, and always what the doctor ordered. “The MacGyver” is a beast that demands to be devoured. It’s huge, weighing in at 10oz and slathered in a delicious sauce. Not sure what it is, but it really makes the burger. It’s served up on grilled Texas toast and glued together with ooey gooey cheese. Paired up with a side of their signature fries, it’s an unstoppable duo. Only thing missing is an ice cold beer to compliment your feast! The town is Downer, but this place isn’t! It’s literally your one-stoo shop. Complete with large event center and gift-store. Always good music, good food, and good memories. Do yourself a favor and make this your next supper destination!

We broke down on I94 just west of Downer. Limped our horse trailer and horses to Downer grabbed the first big parking lot which was the Mainline. The owner swung over to us within 5 min asked if he could help. Brought us a grinder said we were welcome to leave it there do what we needed. They helped us water our horses allowed us to be there as long as we needed. Food was great and we appreciated the safe haven for us and our horses during a stressful time.

I have been wanting to go here for atleast 8 years! So happy we stopped in for breakfast last week. It was awesome service even with 2 toddlers with!!!! Love the atmosphere. Will totally be back for breakfast or a night out with the kids. They had just installed automatic pull tab machines too
Not to mention the prices were fantastic!! 10/5 stars!!! Also there were games for the kids!
