I flew in to Orlando for some business and was starving as soon as I got off the plane, the staff at the airport recommended I go to this place off of semoran.

I ordered pollo guisado and chicharron with yellow rice. MY GOODNESS. The food was excellent!

I have been here before and it used to be good. Unfortunately I can’t say the same thing anymore, we went today to get dinner as a family and Unfortunately the owner was not a very nice person and clearly didn’t care about his quality of food and costumer service at all. We order some alcapurias and thats how they were he didn’t care about and said he would not do a new one or give the money back( picture is as shown) I ordered a mofongo with pollo al ajillo and my food clearly wasn’t what I paid for either, it had no ajillo sauce at all it was just a plain grilled chicken simple. When we ask for the ajillo sauce he said it was the green sauce in the plate that was clearly chimichurri sauce. It’s safe to say we will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone else ever again. If the owner didn’t feel like working today he should have just closed the restaurant. That’s not the attitude you take when there is paying costumers and the worst thing is that you have to pay upfront before getting your food and if ater everything is messed up you won’t be getting your money back.

$14 for 6 pieces of carne frita, 8 tostones and a little bit of salad definitely not worth it. The meat wasn’t flavorful, portion was not enough for an adult. The only reason they get 2 stars is cause it was fresh made and the tostones we’re real crispy.

We stop at the gas station right in front of the restaurant and my wife has to use the restroom and went inside the restaurant and asked permission to used the restroom and was told that she had to buy a soda for her to use the bathroom my wife told the owner that she was going to buy the soda ones she gets out and he told her nope you need to buy the soda first. Thank God for the kid that works at the barber shop next door that he offered her to used their bathroom.
It is a shame and greedy than this owner treats a lady like that . You won’t make customers like that. Shame on you.

Food is very very good. I recommend the platanos locos. Its a tripleta style but with fried plantains. Their chicken salad was also very good. This is my fav spot for puertorican and dominican food. If you like conch def get the conch salad. It was delicious. Their mangu is good, they add garlic to the mangu , im used to no garlic in mangu but it was good. Their parcha drink was also very good. I try to order something different every time i go and so far everything they make tastes good. The place is small, behind a gas station, couple of tables . Its a little hard to hear them because of the glass and im short but besides that great place to order take out.

Just because this location is at a gas station doesn’t mean they can’t make great food you should stop for. The environment very much felt like a small family owned station making food on the side, with a mostly empty building when I walked in. But the good more than made up for it; the mofongo was delicious and filling, while the garlic chicken was extremely garlic heavy in the best way. For good food while you get gas, or even just a meal that leaves you more than satisfied, try El Criollito.
