Never again. We’ve lived in Turlock several years and visited this place only once before tonight. I couldn’t really remember why were weren’t impressed last time, so we decided to try it again tonight. Big mistake. First of all, the prices are ridiculous. $38 for two burritos? So $19 each? And that’s to go pricing. I got a chile verde wet burrito and it was nothing great at all. Not good but not terrible, so I was eating it. Until I found a freaking hair in it. So damn disgusting. For sure I’ll never try this place again.

Today was super packed however we were able to be seated quickly and when we said we know what we want the waiter immediately took our order. Our food came out perfect timing (before we finished our chips). The food was and always is super fresh and absolutely delicious . I highly recommend you try this place .

First time here and loved everything about it. Atmosphere is amazing, food was so yummy and service was spot on. There are a few levels to the place so if that is hard for you then make sure to park and enter through the back – the front does have stairs.

El Jardin Turlock has always had a good reputation for delicious Mexican food. Their service during the dinner hour, however, leaves a lot to be desired. You can typically expect to wait for them to take your order after at least 15 minutes. Then, you can expect another 30-1.5 for your food. So, although they have great chips and salsa and many tasty dishes, you’ll need to make sure you are not in a hurry when you dine here. There is a large patio area which Is very nice, and they do have heaters they can turn on if it gets cool. You never feel pressure to leave, so you can also expect a nice leisurely time to chat with friends if you choose, which is a plus. Note: Since originally posting this review, the service time has greatly improved. The food is good as always!

My order was all jacked up they served me a plate of food I didn’t even order and they never brought me my horchata and my rice and black beans but they did bring me the bill I understand that happens and even more when it’s busy but it was not busy at all and the service really sucks big riatas

**Came back a year later and their service is still TERRIBLE! We were seated rather quickly, however, they helped everyone else who was seated AFTER us, first. After 10 minutes of watching this, I finally had to go ask someone to please provide us service. Definitely will not be returning here. Not worth it.
The food tasted hot and fresh. I ordered both steak and chicken items to taste the flavors. The chicken was pleasantly seasoned, and I would order another chicken item in the future. The steak had moderate gristle, but was also seasoned well. The steak enchiladas had good flavor, and not too spicy green sauce. The taquitos on the appetizer were over cooked and had “crunchy steak” inside. The steak fajitas were delicious and seasoned well. The service was a bit lacking and much to be desired. El Jardin has been a Turlock staple for many years, but it seems their service is consistently lacking. They have a small indoor dining area, as well as outdoor dining, and an indoor patio area that could hold a larger crowd. Overall, if I didn’t have anything to do for the rest of the day or was not in a rush, I would return. Be prepared to wait for your food, as it seems they are often busy.

My husband Andrew and I really enjoyed this restaurant..The food was really delicious.Andrew loved his chili relleno and I must say that was one of the best compuesta I ever had.We both look forward to coming back to try some new dishes.
