Definitely the off-season and we were lucky to find this place open. The view was amazing, being right on the harbor and I can imagine it’s insane in the summertime out on the deck. Definitely coming back for that. We came in with a very hangry and unhappy toddler, and the staff could not have been nicer. They got us settled in and our waitress brought waters, with a kid’s cup & straw for grumpy toddler. We ordered truffle fries, shrimp cocktail, chili, and chili-cheese fries, which were all good. But grumpy toddler wanted ice cream and the restaurant didn’t have any. Toddler wasn’t accepting reasonable explanations, and we were trying to come up with Plan B or C when our amazing waitress came back and said the kitchen had located some ice cream in a freezer upstairs. How unbelievable that they would have looked that hard. I’ve been to hundreds, (maybe thousands?) of restaurants in my life, and that’s the kind of effort that melts your heart. When our toddler is older, he’ll be embarrassed by this story but we’ll keep coming back here because we appreciated it so much, and you seriously cannot beat the view.

You come here because it’s on the harbor- The view is excellent, especially with outside dining option- but there are plenty of windows if inside dining is the only option. The view is excellent. Restaurant is ideal for harbor scenery.
Food was OK, but not great. service was average. We both ordered Japanese noodle with garlic sauce, vegetables and shrimp. The sauce was far too heavy, and soaked the vegetables so they were not “snappy” like typical asian dishes are expected to be. And the shrimp was a bit overcooked not having a chewy, dried out texture. Overall taste was good.
Highlight for me was the desert. I had the blueberry pie, which is not made on premises, but made by a bistro nearby. It was outstanding.
Go here for the scenery, not necessarily the food. Parking is difficult aeound the area. if you are lucky, you can find free street parking. all the lots nearby are $10 park all day. steep hills, not ideal for limited mobility.
gorgeous location.

We popped in for some oysters and they did not disappoint! Our server recommended the ones we got but I forget the name – terrible for this review, I know. They were small and briney and tasted like the ocean which is everything we want from oysters off the coast! Our 10 year old got a blueberry soda and fries and loved both. My husband’s lobster roll and I kept stealing his fries they were so good. We’ve eaten at several places in Boothbay and they have all been better than anything in Bar Harbor. I always tell people to make the trip to Boothbay while in Maine because there’s just nothing like it and this place is no different.

We have been to Boothbay Harbor many times but this was the first time we ate here. I wonder whether it was because it was so tucked in. Anyway, the food was great! Lobster and shrimp Alfredo was excellent; all the other dishes were great too. We asked to be seated outside, without realizing the spot we were put in, the last open spot, did not have any ocean breeze but under a very hot sun. I wonder whether the waitress should have warned us. anyway, we enjoyed the food even though we were toasted ourselves. next time i will check the location out before committing to the seats. also, on the second floor, there are two bathrooms available to the patrons. one of them is very very tiny and the lock does not work. they should have kept that for their own staff, because i had made up my mind not going back ever to the restaurant if i did not see the much bigger and much nicer rest room by chance. here it is a picture of the hook on the door from inside.

just went here for the third time in as many years. was not disappointed! we had the same waiter twice as he was super kind and welcoming. first, we had a nice and easy sit down meal and my quesadilla was very good. we came back two days later for takeout since almost nowhere else was open, the bartender was super friendly, polite and eager to help us. good food atmosphere views and service. definitely come here if your around it and hungry! i will have to try the sushi next time.

Corn cakes were a bit dense but the pesto on the tomato stack was amazing (as far as vegetarian options). The Tuna tartare was loved by my hubby. Kids devoured the fish n chips! Nice view. Was easy enough to get a table sat night 430p

I recently visited this place with my boyfriend, and we loved the food. We ordered oysters, which were delicious, and a shrimp pizza that left you completely satisfied. The service was friendly, and you have a nice view of the harbor. I think the interior could be better, but nothing special.

Delicious food and great service, very good drinks. The clam chowder was thick with clams and potatoes, very good! The haddock was delicious and large portion, and the Asian pasta with Japanese sauce was very tasty. A very large menu. We sat inside but they have outside seating. A great view of the harbor everywhere you sit. I’d definitely go back! Bartender made the best lemon drop martini that I ever had!

Took a bit to get noticed by get noticed by the hostess and to get seated. After receiving menus it was a good half an hour or more for someone to come over and ask for a drinks and order. BUT…. The seafood Alfredo was definitely worth the wait, it was very creamy and delicious. A bit more pricey than I would have liked to have spent. The Bermuda triangle cocktail was very smooth And will definitely be a favorite. Staff was very friendly, our waiter actually happened to be the bartender also and he was very apologetic for the long wait. Very pretty view of the Harbor.

Conceptually, the food ideas are awesome. The execution falls a little short. We were expecting, from the description, interesting and bold, we got pretty good and well prepared.
The wood grilled lobster – awesome. You taste the wood, the grill, but it’s not smokey. Just grilled. The corn and potatoes were great.
The Lobster Boats, while having a fair amount of meat in them, were DRY.
The tuna tartare was standard issue, but the fish was VERY fresh.
