Our family’s go-to spot. Love watching them making the pasta, everything is so fresh. Pairing a pasta with one of the great wines is perfect. The service has also always been fantastic. It’s definitely worth finishing off your night with a dessert!

I had the steak tips appetizer. They were excellent.Cooked perfectly with a tasteful char that made a delicious bite. Carl the bartender was very friendly and attentive. Had the house Cabernet which went perfectly with the steak tips.

I’ve gone here each time Ive visited Portland and it’s great. I usually order more than one pasta dish because I cant choose.

This time was a little disappointing. I walked in at 6pm on a Wednesday. There were maybe 3 tables seated, I asked for a table for 1 and was told I would have to sit at the bar because the wait for a table was an hour. I currently work at a restaurant and I hosted for almost 4 years so I understand there may have been reservations coming in but an hour wait for a virtually empty restaurant is a bit silly. Also, being a party of 1, obviously I wouldnt be there long and the tables couldve easily been flipped. I begrudgingly sat at the bar, although sitting at high bar seats are not ideal for my back right now due to an injury. I explained this to the host but she wasnt very accommodating. The bartender was very friendly and my pasta was great but as expected, NONE of the 2 top tables had been seated while I was there. When I left maybe one table had come in so I couldve obviously been seated without an issue.

After The Grill Room we had to try the Corner Room for my birthday dinner.

We were skeptical based on reviews about service and even still concerned when we arrived and may have had the server in the negative reviews. We got lucky and had the best server ever.

Everything was spot on. Great flavor, good portions, and a large variety. The whipped feta should be a permanent item on the menu. We couldn’t get enough.

As for cocktails, the current special was and iced earl grey and vodka drink. It was so refreshing.

We went to visit Maine from Miami. Aside from the variety of seafood they have, we were in the mood to eat pasta. We google this restaurant and decided to check it out.. We were not disappointed, the food was delicious freshly made. I wished they would have had lasagna, bit the waitress recommended something close to it. Great atmosphere, it does get a bit crowed that is how good this restaurant is. I highly recommend it

A perfect slightly upscale place for dinner. The mushroom pasta with gluten free pasta was delicious, and the arrabbiata with GF pasta is also a great choice. The martinis are strong and delicious. But the best best best part of this place…the decadent gluten free chocolate torte. It left me speechless. So so so good!

Last minute dinner dash before a concert at Merrill. We sat at the bar. The bartender was incredibly busy, but managed to keep our drinks full, take our order, serve us and cash us out in under an hour! The food is authentic, fresh and house made. I couldn’t recommend this place enough for anyone who appreciates authentic Italian food. The presentation was nice too although I didn’t think to take photos until we were half done.

Wow, we walked into a smoke filled restaurant. Seemed concerning, so I had to mention it immediately at the host stand. They agreed that the restaurant was very smoky. I asked if that’s why the doors were partially propped open, and they told me “yes”. They didn’t offer any explanation. I made the reservation several weeks ago, so I didn’t want to leave. I assumed something caught fire in the kitchen and one the restaurant aired out it would be better. I was wrong. There must have been an issue with the exhaust and the air conditioning. It was cooler outside on a July evening and the smoke conditions kept getting worse! More than one table left and several patrons eyes were burning and tearing. So unfortunate. I highly doubt that they legally should have continued to seat tables and serve.
Now, let’s get on to the food. Fried squid was excellent. The aioli had no flavor but the marinara was delicious.
Our entrees were terrible. My truffle mushroom pappardelle had zero truffle and the garlic was raw, meaning the dish was not edible. I had the entire LARGE bowl wrapped so I could try to take it home to salvage it.
My daughter’s dish had zero flavor. It was fish, calamari, mussles, and shrimp. There was no starch other than a single slice of garlic toast. The mussels were tiny, but not as tiny as the shrimp. We were actually laughing about it because it was embarrassing on behalf of the restaurant. We have photos to show that we are NOT exaggerating. Hopefully, you get a chuckle out of this as well. It may help you to understand what you are getting for the very large bill you will be served at the end. Her dish was $35 and it had nothing sustainable in the serving to justify that price.
I was shocked that the server didn’t ask why I hadn’t touched my dinner. Seemed like a full dish would warrant some curiosity. Nope, she could care less. Very shocking. So many great restaurants surrounding this place, do not waste your time or the dime!

My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic meal at The Corner Room last night. We split the Carbonara and Cider Braised Short Rib specials and both were outstanding, as were the drinks and the focaccia bread appetizer! Our server took extra care to make our anniversary special and memorable. We will definitely be back!
