First time experience for everyone in our group. Came by this place as a rec from another friend.
Got unagi sushi, caterpillar roll, & Philadelphia roll. The rolls & unagi sushi were very fresh.

Got the dinner combos of salmon, tempura, & steak. Combos came with salad, rice , miso soup.
Miso soup was piping hot & lots of tofu
Salmon teriyaki— fish was slightly dry but otherwise ok.
Shrimp veggie tempura — veggies included green beans, squash, sweet potato, bell pepper. Quite crispy
Steak- steak was med well done & added with the ponzu sauce that it came with was quite good. Veggies were a mixed stir fry

Service— forewarning none of the sushi’s have a description on the menu. The waitress was nice enough to explain it to us. However, once we got our food, we didn’t see her until she brought the bill. She also never brought back the extra ginger we requested or came back to refill our drinks.

Quiet, chill atmosphere with simple flavors of the food shining through.

A hidden gem. Excellent sushi, teriyaki, and tempura. My family has been coming here for over 7 years and every time we’ve been greeted with friendly, reliable service. The private outdoor dining is beautiful and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Ordered the tempura udon and grilled mackerel for a Tuesday lunch to go. My MIL enjoyed the tempura udon which came with 2 large shrimp and an assortment of veggies. Grilled mackerel had a nice crispy skin, came with grated daikon, lemon, a tossed salad in a light Asian dressing, miso soup and two large chikuwa tempura pieces, also yummy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Outdoor seating available.

This is a small Japanese restaurant. Very comfortable and cozy place to eat. One of the better Japanese places to eat in this area. Highly recommended. This is my parents go to place to eat.

Good authentic Japanese cuisine in Yorba Linda. Seafood selection is limited so we go for other menu items which are better. Recommend if you are in the area looking for Japanese cuisine not sushi.

This is the best Sushi I’ve had period. That’s saying a lot. I’ve lived I’m Santa Barbara, Washington DC and Yorba Linda served the best. Kaz who runs the place is a fanatic about his fish. It is of such high quality that this is a perfect place to try the less popular sushi options. His uni is the only uni I’ve enjoyed. The owner is from Japan and has been passionately running this business since. And it shows. It is well worth the price.

This is my husband and I favorite Japanese restaurant. We have been going here for 10 plus years now. We love the sushi as well as Tempura and chicken teriyaki. Always good quality fish and food.

I’ve been eating sushi at Maguroya for more than a decade and honestly, I don’t want to eat sushi anywhere else in Southern California. The freshness of the fish has spoiled me. I’ve been at Nobu and said to myself that the fish quality is just as good at Maguroya. The novice sushi eater might complain that there is not a large selection of rolls here, which is true, but that is not what this place is about. It’s all about the fish. This is not Americanized sushi—it is traditional, and it is fantastic.

Outstanding sushi. Hand grated Wasabi! A friend brought me here and I can’t wait to return. It’s a bit expensive, but worth every penny.
