Our story began in 2008 inside a 160sq ft drive – thru in Beaverton, Oregon. Founded by family, rooted in hospitality, and driven by a desire to bring light to the grey PNW mornings, we set out to build something simple but meaningful – a place where coffee could fuel connection.

I had a really unpleasant experience with the coffee shop baristas. From the moment I approached the counter, they were rude, judgmental, and kept looking me up and down in a way that felt very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. When I tried to use my birthday drink reward, I was told I couldn’t use it, and the interaction felt dismissive and unfriendly. On top of that, I was made to feel like I was expected to leave a tip despite the poor service. Overall, the whole experience felt hostile and unprofessional. I left feeling upset and won’t be returning.

Much better than the other location on Fourth Plain. The blended drink was perfectly blended with zero ice chunks in it and it tasted great. I’ll definitely return. I also enjoy it being a sit down location.

Truthfully, as a non-coffee drinker, this is my favorite “coffee” shop! Not only is the vibe done well and better than any other coffee shop I’ve been in, but the options are great! My wife gets coffee here that she likes, and I can get things here that I like too! Plus, it’s a great place to do some work, study, or meet with friends or the like.

I’m always impressed by this location. Not only are they fast, but their drinks are always made to perfection and the service is always pleasant. Once I tried a coffee from Black Rock I could never turn back to Starbucks. My favorite suggestion is the blended frappuccino style Caramel Blondie with 2 extra shots of espresso, and to balance out the extra ‘oomph’ of caffeine I get it extra sweet! everything about this location is absolutely sweet and I would suggest any of their locations to any person visiting Vancouver or the Portland Northwest region.
