This is the place to bring your friends from out of state to give them a memory they will soon not forget. Pete brought this place back to life 2 years ago, and it is an eclectic charming throwback to the saloons of yesteryear up in the mountains the burger is amazing, get the home made bacon on top for sure…..AND save room for the ice cream pie…..Pete only makes a few pies a day…. And once they’re gone…..they’re GONE!.

We absolutely love the Bucksnort and are so happy to see it reopened. The new ownership has done an incredible job bringing this historic gem back to life.

They hosted our nephew’s rehearsal dinner, and it could not have been a better setting. The venue is full of character and history, the river right alongside the property adds such a special touch, and the space was perfect for guests to mingle and celebrate. It was especially convenient being just 15 minutes from the wedding venue.

Such a special place with so much charm. We’re thrilled to see it thriving again and can’t wait to come back.

The legacy of The Bucksnort is alive, and the trip to this iconic saloon doesn’t disappoint! They are starting out with new management who’s done a great job, and the service & atmosphere are what I expected after coming here for 40 years. The food menu is still lacking a bit, but hoping once they get things running smoothly, it will improve

This place is an awesome hidden gem. I’m so glad they re opened recently. Love riding the motorcycle up to this place. Good burgers and beers. No liquor. Cabin style atmosphere with a small patio overlooking a stream.

While there were many employees running around, it still took a whole 30 minutes to get acknowledged by staff in order to get served 2 beers at the bar. It seemed staff actively ignored us while we were standing there at the end of the bar. This is pretty much my only criticism. Pete, the owner, said they’re always hiring, and we can see why.

We ordered Nachos (which hit the spot), which were brought out to us on outside patio.

The Bucktones were setting up and started playing inside, and they were a good band, especially the drummer.

We had fun painting the mailbox and watching Pete assemble a No Right Turn sign and barrier, which ppl ignored right away.

We’ll return when we can. It’s quite out-of-the way for us – which is how I’m sure the locals prefer it.

Cute & quirky roadside stop. Order at the bar. Beer & burgers. Nice little deck outside but fills quickly.

Hasn’t changed after being closed for 3 years. The drive along Elk Creek road alone is worth it! A wonderful small piece of mountain history.

It’s nice to have it back up and running! Same vibe as before. Great staff, burger was typical bar food but generous with the meat. Beer was cold, patrons were awesome.

Bucksnort is a local legend, a place you have to experience yourself. Dating back to 1919, the new owners have stayed true to what patrons have always loved about this bar that’s tucked between the boulders of Sphinx Park. Grab a stool on the back deck overlooking the creek, have a drink and some nachos and soak it all in!!
