First time here & my last, ordered the beef and chicken teriyaki plate $15.49, come to see hardly got any beef when served and got more veggies & chicken. Disappointed I ordered this because of the beef but hardly got any. Not coming here again. Good luck getting that same portion of beef like chicken.

Sansei Japan cafeteria is inside the Patio Cafe food court of the shops at Montebello mall. It’s one of few places that make the California rolls and the shrimp tempura rolls to order. They’re really fresh and tasty. The chow men noodles are delicious. The beef & shrimp teriyaki is perfect. Great place for a Japanese quick, delicious, and healthy full filling meal

I went up politely and asked for a small sample of their chicken/sauce. Almost every “japanese” food court places in malls hand out samples. He had this irritated look on his face and said no, no samples. So, I chose to walk away and take my business elsewhere. Even the Korean restaurant in the mall was handing out samples. The other japan places that I have sampled end up getting my business. So they’re just losing out on business by not and two with their customer service. Not very inviting/friendly to want to purchase something there. Good luck to the owners, and I hope you check on your employees that are a representation of your company. Do better, Sansei.

The cashier is wearing gloves. With the same gloves he was touching money and handling the empty food trays and did NOT put on hand sanitizer in between. Unsanitary. I don’t want to return.

They staff is very rude, my grandma used to eat there often. The one day her food tasted off she told them the food wasn’t good and tasted off, they called her stupid and made fun of her for being blind.

If I could give it a zero star, I would. The service was atrocious. The one taking our order looked zoned out and didn’t hear my order even though I said it clearly and loudly. The salmon avocado roll didn’t taste fresh. Even though they said it was “fresh” as they proceeded to pull out a slab of fish. All the workers were so passive about the interaction, just wanting me to leave.

It’s one of my favorite places in the food court to eat at. It’s so good. It also feels fresh and healthy because it’s grilled. No greasy noodles or rice. It’s all so yummy and it’s so good. I also love their fried gyozas. They’re so bomb! I love coming here every time I’m at the Montebello mall. Also the staff is very friendly.

This is not sushi. This is Japanese food. But even that I would use the term loosely, it’s basically panda express with a Japanese name. They’re only two options for sushi is extremely heavy and once again don’t have any miso.
It just looks like fried food. This does not speak to the healthy choice of Japanese eating. Nor of many delicious qualities.
