My wife and I just had brunch here and we had to laugh at how horrible our experience was. For starters our waiter was horrible. He was a nice person but he couldn’t answer a single question we had without looking at his handheld and reading it so it took forever you get our meal ordered. When my wife asked if they could use clamato juice for her bloody Mary he had no clue what that was. Then she asked if it could be made dirty he had to bring the bartender out so she could explain what that meant and he spoke no English so we said nevermind make it normal.
Then came the food and it was cold. Not even warm just cold. My Benedict had hardly any holindase sauce on it so I asked for extra and when I got it…. Again it was cold.
I’m not sure what’s happened here because it was a favorite of ours but I don’t know if we will return now.
The picture was taken after I put the egg on the other biscuit. Otherwise one half was dry with nothing on it.

In response to the owner.. your response was much like our service.. late. I posted this review months ago so you would have no clue who our server was. Not trying to be rude. Just wish our experience was awesome like our first time. I hope you guys can figure it out and the best to you and all your staff

Pancakes were fluffy and tasted delicious. Avocado toast phenomenal. Barbacoa was ok.
The server was nice she needs to make frequent check backs though. Bathroom were cute and clean. Tables were clean. Chill atmosphere.

If you’re anywhere near Laredo, do yourself a favor and make your way to Scratch Sandwich Company. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, welcoming, and full of the delicious smell of freshly made bread and sizzling meats. This place doesn’t just serve sandwiches—they serve experiences stacked between slices of heaven.

We tried several items off the menu and honestly, each one was a knockout. The ingredients were unbelievably fresh, and you could tell everything was made in-house with care. The bread? Perfectly baked with that slight crunch on the outside and soft, chewy center. The meats were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned—whether you’re into brisket, pulled pork, or classic deli cuts, you’ll find something that hits the spot.

One standout was their signature sandwich—the flavor combinations were bold but balanced, and the sauces (which I’m convinced are made by wizards) tied everything together flawlessly. Their creative use of toppings adds layers of flavor without overpowering the main ingredients. Oh, and don’t sleep on the sides—the fries were crispy and golden, and the house pickles were tangy with just the right kick.

Service was quick, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they’re serving, and rightfully so.

Overall, Scratch Sandwich Company is a gem in Laredo. It’s the kind of place you come back to again and again—and then tell everyone you know about. Whether you’re a sandwich fanatic or just hungry for something amazing, you’ll leave happy (and probably full for the rest of the day).

Best place to stop by during your lunch for a quick bite! Always received with the best service and the atmosphere is really nice. Scratch is a go-to for happy hour as well and their martinis are delicious!!

The fries on the appetizer are wicked good. It has crispy bacon cheese, fresh potato fries with chicken on top. Highly recommend getting that. I also got a salad with chicken and that was super good too. I tried the chicken chili which was delicious. I’m walking out of here like I need a wheelchair. Absolutely great stuff brought the team they loved it. Thank you so much for the great service and the amazing food.

Absolutely fair question. So, I will share. After driving over 1000 miles to be back in Laredo, there were only two places I wanted to go to in Laredo or actually Texas. HEB and Scratch. I finally got to go eat my favorite breakfast, and the restaurant looked neglected and was a bit uncomfortably cool. Benedict Arnold was still on the menu with the same side. The place was pretty empty, but the service was painfully slow. We had three adults and three small children. The food came out at such different times half the party was done before I got my order and my wife’s order was even later than that. We had ordered the same thing. Both orders had cold biscuits and cold potato croquettes. There was very little hollandaise, and the jalapeño flavor was completely absent. The place was a neglected shell of what it used to be, and it used to be where we would take visiting family or friends for brunch. The photo is from when it was good.

Great lunch spot. I got the La Costa Nostra and upgraded my side of fries to the Crazy Fries. Both were delicious! The Chicken Buffalo Dip is another must – huge chunks of chicken and not too spicy. I left full but not a miserable, overeaten full. Would definitely come here at night for food and to take advantage of the full bar.

Tried the shrimp PO’Boy. The homemade pickles are amazing. I will come back, but probably would not order the same item. The fries were pretty good as well.

My go-to place! Everything is good here but the Scratch sandwich and the egg white frittata is the BEST! Takes 30 minutes and it’s worth the wait. Paired with a breakfast martini and it’s the perfect lunch.
