This is a hidden gem for traditional BBQ lovers. They’ve been open only a year and have a good menu. I have had the burnt ends and the turkey, both were great! My adult daughter had the pulled pork and loved it. They have a lot of room, despite the small amount of tables in the dining room. They do catering as well. If you haven’t been in, come support a locally owned and run business that has good food! The fire roasted corn with jalapeños was great, not overly spicy!!

First, quality people who greet and prepare order. I watched my order prepared. This place is quick serve bbq. The pulled chicken and rib tips were served out of a warmer pre prepped pan. Not off a grill. There is no grill or smoker to be seen in the front. 1cup sauce given per order. Pickles in a cup. The meal served it’s purpose which was I didn’t want to cook and needed something quick. I would compare it to a hot and ready meal from a grocery store.

Super delicious bbq and sides at the new bbq spot near Trader Joe’s at corner of park and 38 in Glen Ellyn. Definitely worth checking out! Andouille was outstanding, beautiful crisp skin and spicy inside. Brisket was soft and delicious. Solid ribs and burnt ends. Loved the Carolina vinegar sauce and smokehouse as well. But the SIDES are where it’s at, spectacular coleslaw and fantastic mashed potatoes. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for some great bbq or just an easy meal!

Love this road side stop restaurant, the moment you walk in you listen to great time memories, then it’s the view of the road signs, like in the highway, but it’s their menu… then when you finally try the brisket, it just melts in your mouth, and the smoke house ribs and not like the ones you steam and they slip of the bone, no sir, these smoked one have a hickory scent and you bite into them and get a clean teeth mark on them, I had to try every sauce and my 2 favorite are their famous sweet & smokey and their watermelon sauce. But must not think they don’t have sides, my personal favorite were the mash potatoes and corn. Now they also have a great strawberry short cake that they make uniquely, but if you call ahead and request they have some fresh cookies, well…. you are in for a delicious treat. The gentleman at register is the Chef and he’s very nice, a plus that he know a lot about the southern BBQ. I look forward to my next visit to try the apple blossom tart.

I’m not a pork eater but, today I was craving rib tips. I goggle places near me and read the reviews on a couple places and decided on Rt 38. I’m glad i chose this place. Walked in staff greeted me and helped me order. The ribs were smelling good before I even left the place. A sampled the pulled chicken and feel in love. The tips smelt in your mouth, mashed potatoes are seasoned to perfection(no gravy needed)! Corn on point! I’m happy I chose this place to eat!

I’ve never thrown away BBQ, until today. I ordered a 2 meat plate, brisket and pork. The Pork was chicken with some kind of orange sauce mixed into it. The brisket was undercooked and wasn’t even sliced correctly. It tasted like pot roast with absolutely no smoke taste. I can’t beleive someone looked at what I was served and thought it would be acceptable to plate it. I really wanted to like this place but I’ve had far better meat at old country buffet. 1 star because the food was ready on time, otherwise it would have been a zero for me.

We drove in from Rockford Illinois to sample this restaurants food. The first thing i can tell you is that it’s well worth the drive! My wife and I had the Burnt Ends, Rib Tips, Mac and Cheese, Corn Bread (cake) and a sampling of sauces. The meats have a great flavor all there own and the meat just melts in your mouth. What great flavor in the smoke and the rub. Then you try the unique sauces and Kapow you’re in food heaven.
If you’re a native Chicagoan, the coleslaw is what you grew up with. The Mac & Cheese is full bodied, creamy and oh so GOOD! The staff is very friendly and the portions are as promised.
If you’re looking for a great place for wonderful flavors, trust me this is it.

We tried Rt38 BBQ for the first time this evening. Let me start with the staff Scott Melissa were very friendly and Scott the owner was very nice. They gave us a little bit of everything to try and it was all good. I am quite particular about ribs and I always order dry rub pork ribs when trying a place for the first time because you can cover a lot if they are slathered in sauce. These dry rub ribs were really good they have a really good pull off the bone bite. I also tried the brisket and burnt ends. Both were very good. We will certainly be going back frequently. Dan the only thing I will suggest is to better advertise and say exactly where you’re located on rt38. I am a native Glen Ellyner so knew right where you are, but someone looking for you from a different area may struggle a bit t find you. Thanks, can’t wait to go back.

When I walked in I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was blowin away! Brisket was do tender, Mac and cheese out of this world and mashed potatoes with smoke gravy outstanding! I asked for a mild BBQ sauce and what he suggested was perfect. Everything was delicious. Definitely will be back
