Ordered online for 11:30 pickup. Food was ready at 12:05. I expected the dish to have pineapple based on the “Tropical Pineapple “ phrase. The sauce and dish did not appear to have any sweet or pineapple flavor. If you’re going to use the restaurant seating area for storage and boxes, you should consider using a curtain or something to block it. The two employees working seemed overwhelmed. Having a manager or owner around would have been helpful. I probably won’t return anytime soon.

I visited Urban wok, and let me tell you, it’s called “urban” for a reason—gritty and forgettable. I spent $20 here, and the food was so lackluster I wouldn’t even serve it to my dog. They threw together plain rice and grilled chicken, called it a ✨working cantina✨ dish, and somehow managed to make it the blandest meal I’ve ever tasted. No seasoning, no flavor—just rice with a drizzle of soy sauce and dry, uninspired chicken.
I was so unimpressed that I planned to write this review right after eating, but my phone died, and I went to bed. I literally woke up in the middle of the night remembering I had to warn others about this place. The only redeeming thing? Their canned Arnold Palmer tea, which was honestly the highlight of the meal. Save your money and skip this spot.

St. Paul Urban Wok is straight-up awesome. The space has an AWESOME vibe—clean, stylish, great music, and just a great spot to post up for lunch or dinner and hang out.

The team here is friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they really care about the guest experience. Food comes out quick, portions are generous, and the flavors are unreal. You can tell the sauces are made in-house because you can’t find anything like them elsewhere….Out of control good whether you want spicy, sweet, or both.

They also just locked in $3 tallboy beers…. Are you kidding!?

Love what they’re building here—can’t wait to see more of these pop up around the Twin Cities!

Awful vibes. Arrived @10:10pm took a few minutes to find what we wanted, ordered @10:20pm. We waited for 30min, we left at 10:50pm. While we waited we saw them struggle to make 2 other orders and deny a doordasher. The woman who seemed to be the manager, kept being snappy with the other worker and sitting.

Spent $46 for 3 things. Quality of food was very poor. Did receive everything. My stirfry was so over cooked it was a third of the togo cup. The staff was kind in asking if they forgot something. And then proceeded to inform me that they were two people short.

Honestly if your restaurant is that short the owner needs to step up. That makes a poor environment for workers and customers.

Will not be returning

Great food, I’ve ordered from here multiple times and it’s always been excellent. I plan to bring friends next time.

Edit 1&2: Do not drive down 4th Street in the front of the building. Uber drivers will stop in the one-way and block the traffic for several minutes. Go around on Kellogg and park on Sibley near Mears. This was my primary complaint before but the store has taken time to address it.

I came to Urban Wok in St. Paul looking for a relatively healthy meal and was really impressed. The vegetables were fresh, the oil used for cooking was clean, and the sauce—Hawaiian BBQ—was flavorful with a good level of spice.

What really made the experience stand out was Daryl. He took great care of my friend and me, making sure everything was just right. It felt less like a typical restaurant visit and more like having a meal prepared by a longtime friend. We had great food and good conversation, which made the experience even better.

For those who appreciate fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared food, I highly recommend Urban Wok. If I had one small piece of constructive feedback, at another Urban Wok location, I was able to customize my vegetable selection rather than going with the default blend. That said, even the default mix here was excellent.

I’ll definitely be back, and if you get the chance, let Daryl take care of you—you won’t regret it!

Daryl went above and beyond to take care of us, from menu options to local activities we can do and even busted out some candy for the kids, he went above and beyond to make us welcome and comfortable. The food was amazing as well, can’t go wrong here. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Very happy with my experience.

The place was empty on Sunday, but they made us wait 45 minutes for basic meal. The atmosphere is not cozy, it’s complete silence inside which made waiting creepy. The place making you pay full price with tips in advance so stuff is not trying make an experience nice at all. Food is basically nice, but doesn’t worth of that long waiting time

Fantastic food and quick!! High quality ingredients. We will be back soon

Update……..

This place went WAAAAAYYYY downhill. We used to love coming here. The menu was simple enough to use and prices were decent. Now, every little thing is an add-on. I just got a simple create-your-own bowl and a soda, no apps, and it’s $30!!!! Not feasible for a lunch like that. We will never be back. So disappointing. This is obviously a management, not on-site staff issue. The gouging is ridiculous. This restaurant lost it’s place
