My daughter and I have been cuddling through the area sushi restaurants to celebrate her birthday for nearly two decades now. Through the years, several of our favorites have closed and we’ve needed to search for a new place.
WE FOUND IT!
Everything was fantastic, from the (post-lunchtime) moment we walked in until we walked outside, replete and happy.
We ordered a selection of rolls and a large plate of sashimi, expecting small- to average-sized portions at reasonable prices. What we got were nearly futomaki-sized rolls at these same prices. The flavor combinations, both sweet and savory, both spicy and sublime, were even more impressive than the value.
Everyone we saw or spoke with was polite and smiling, and made us feel immediately welcome.
We’ll be back next year, and likely a few times in-between!

The service here was great — very friendly and attentive staff, which honestly made me want to give this place a higher rating. Unfortunately, the sushi itself was not good. The spicy tuna roll had almost no flavor, the texture was off for all of the hand rolls. Like old chewy seaweed, and rice that was cooked with too much water.
It just felt like low-quality ingredients overall, which was disappointing because the presentation looked fine. I’ve had better sushi at inexpensive all-you-can-eat places. I’m not a picky eater.

I will drive out here from Baltimore to come to this Sushi place! I have never seen so many types of Sushi in one place. They have the classics as well and an abundance of unique rolls. They also offered complementary soup, appetizer and dessert. I couldn’t believe they kept coming out with complementary items and didn’t believe it till we got the bill LOl. The prices are amazing for the quality of sushi. I don’t usually eat a lot of raw sushi but I had the salmon avocado roll and it was divine. The food was prepared and out to us within 10 minutes or so. Amazing amazing amázing!

I’m a regular at this restaurant and have always been impressed with their food, especially their red dragon and lover rolls. The quality and freshness of the food are consistently great, and the service is usually prompt and attentive. The restaurant itself is clean and conveniently located.
However, our last visit was a complete letdown. The service was subpar and, frankly, unacceptable. Our server never checked on us after we received our food, and the table remained untouched for a significant amount of time after we finished our meal. No one brought the check, refilled our drinks, or even came to check on us. We had to push the button at the table multiple times before a server finally arrived to give us the check.
To make matters worse, I had a gift card, but the server took it without bothering to redeem it. I had to wait for our original server to come by and inform me of the difference owed. I paid the check and left feeling deeply disappointed. I expect more from a place that I frequent and recommend to others. I hope the owner sees this review and takes the necessary steps to improve the service and overall experience.

This is BY FAR my favorite sushi restaurant in a thirty mile radius. The prices are reasonable. They have good lunch deals. They always give a complimentary appetizer and dessert. And the sushi rolls are varied, unique, and high quality. I refuse to go to any other sushi restaurant.

To be clear, ALL of the Sushi Q locations that we’ve been to have been amazing (Jessup, Elkridge, and Millersville). The Jessup location is right down the street from our house, so it’s the one we visit most often.
The quality of the ingredients is amazing and the price is a great value. Also, the staff is extremely friendly. It doesn’t get any better than that.

May2021: Lunch combo is incredible value. Two rolls, hot appetizer, soup, salad & small dessert cake all for $11.
Hangover soup is excellent, huge bowl of ramen with sliced vegetabless and a fried egg. Pick chicken, shrimp or beef, all are good. Good quality beef. Not that chewy junk you get a Chinese restaurants.
Favorite rolls so far: Philly (add jalapeno), Dabomb, VIP.
I live near the one in Elkridge and so far the quality is about the same. Rice quality has gone down. Just okay, but it used to be better.
One of my favorites is the Special Sashimi Tuna/Salmon (pic) app. But holy cow it’s now $10.
The fried rice was okay but bland.
Dynamite Roll (pic) is good, but pieces are cut too big. Have to do two bites.
2023 prices are up on everything. It’s now $1 to add jalapenos. $1.75 for soy paper instead of seaweed. And the pick-two lunch special (best deal) is now $11.50, last year it was $8.95.

This is our normal go-to place for sushi, but the last takeout experience was really not worth the price. The sushi portion thickness was reduced and without the special sauce that makes it tasty. The miso soup was watered down so badly that it tasted like water with tofu. Will be finding a better option in the future, sadly.
