Scott’s Drive-In seriously took me back — in the best way. I’m a small-town Texas girl from Lampasas, and this place gave me all the nostalgic vibes of our local joint, Storm’s.

From the crinkle-cut fries and juicy burger to the chili cheese fries that hit just right, everything was fresh and delicious. The inside feels like a time capsule — classic red booths, checkered floors, old photos and Route 66 memorabilia lining the walls. And the cherry on top? They played 80s rock the whole time we were there — it just fit.

The guy at the counter was so sweet and welcoming, and the prices were super reasonable. Honestly, this place deserves way more business than it looked like it was getting.

If you’re passing through or live nearby, stop in. Good food, great service, and that cozy, old-school energy that’s getting harder to find.

Excellent local stop for great burgers and more. I love all the burger options, fries, onion rings, etc. They recently added a shrimp basket that is amazing! Treat yourself to a cherry limeade to wash it all down.
You can expect to wait several minutes more than you would at McDonalds, but I assure you it is worth the wait!

This was my 1st and last visit. My husband and I decided to give this place a try for lunch. We waited over a half hour, eating into most his lunch break, for our order only for my chicken tenders and fries to come our burned. I was disappointed. I bet the chicken and fries would’ve been good if they weren’t burned. I didn’t complain because we had to leave, so my husband could get back to work. He wasn’t really impressed with his burger either after hearing about how great the burgers are here. I understand it takes a while to cook to order, so I’d order in advance if on a time crunch.

It is a classic drive-in diner, pull up, order, they bring you your food, they do have limited inside seating with a few tables and a bar, we ordered burgers which were really good, but they do have plenty of choices.

I’m going to give a 2 star review, however the food is a negative star review.

First point, yes I read the reviews and the replies from the owner. I anticipated a long wait, so I have no complaint on the time frame.

Second point, no the employees are certainly not friendly, much less overly so, however that also is not a complaint. I’d prefer they didn’t stand and chat at each vehicle upon delivery of food, because that only delays every other order further. So, that also is not an issue for me.

Finally, however, is the quality of food. As a classically trained private chef, I am probably more critical of food than the average consumer. There is no excuse for the food we received. We ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich basket. It says “mayo”, that was definitely NOT mayonnaise on the sandwich. It was Miracle Whip or a version of. The steak was about 1/8-1/4″ thick and fried to a burnt crisp (see photos). The fries were horrible, no salt at all when they come from the fryer, which is when they should be seasoned. Served on toast.

This was a $10.00 meal with tip.

Arrived around 12:20. Spent about $10 per person, but didn’t get full meals. Took over 40 minutes to get 2 burgers, 2 sandwich baskets and 4 drinks. Thought we ordered all 4 meals as baskets- but apparently burgers don’t come in a basket and charge extra for fries. We asked as I payed and was ignored as I was handed change for cash- at that point I said I’m not waiting an hour for two orders of fries. We ate and left. Won’t go back since I wasn’t impressed. Kid said the Chicken fried steak sandwich was extremely dry. Burgers tasted like sonic to me. Didn’t like the fries which were barely cooked.

Quaint little drive-in with plenty of nostalgia adorning its walls. This gem is still around for a reason. Good food, good service, and clean restaurant. 5/5 all day long!

Overall, this place was decent.
I could have sworn that last time I was here the CFS sandwich wasn’t made with this type of bread. I could be mistaken, but the sandwich wasn’t bad!
The fries were good & the DP was just alright. Tasted like the carbonation was off or too much syrup.

Old fashioned drive in appeal! Huge, delicious servings and really reasonably priced! Plus the guy who delivered it to our car had a smile and was friendly (you don’t always get a smile and a friendly word from folks nowadays) but this was very nice and we will be going back definitely to try the burgers.
